Pitch Type Future Grade Sitting Velocity Peak Velocity Report
Fastball 70 93-94 95 Sat 93-94, topped at 95. Will regain some velocity ideally as season goes on after extended rehab last two season. Tailing and downward action when he took a little bit off of fastball. Command there, occasionally missed spots.
Curveball 70 79-81   Best pitch, 12-6; hammer curve; breaks hard and late for multiple swings and misses; most consistent pitch
Change Up 50 86-87   Not comfortable with pitch nearly as much as others; tumble as approaches plate; used sparingly in first game back; has making of a solid third pitch; 50+
Overall

Taillon has a high-risk, but high-reward profile. Plus plus fastball and curve, with an average with potential for more change up leaves many to dream on him. His injury concerns seem out of the way, and the extended break from pitching post TJS has allowed him to have much more rest than most. Pitchers body, and repeatable delivery make for a clear starter, but needs to work on timing occasionally that can lead to small command issues. Can be a number two starter long term - need to see how arm holds in first season back. Clear starter.
