2008 This Bronx-raised Dominican rates as the Brewers' top catching prospect. Solid at the plate, he draws raves for his work ethic and arm strength. The rest of his defensive game is a work in progress, however, so much so that it raises questions about where else a 5-foot-7, 200-pound fireplug can play. Progress was in limited supply last year, as Salome missed the first month of the season recuperating from a broken ankle, then drew a 50-game suspension after the results of his performance-enhancing drug test came back positive in late July. Once he gets back into the swing of things, he's likely to find himself in Double-A. 2007 Born in the Dominican Republic but a resident of New York City from age 12 on, Salome is a squat and bubbly catcher. He`s still learning the position, but has a great arm from behind the plate, and, in his first full season, he showed excellent power for his age, so he`s no Spanky Lavalliere in the making. A dislocated ankle ended his season in mid-August, but he should be fine in camp.
