2007 With Chris Coste having made it to the major leagues and found a certain amount of success, players such as Carlos Maldonado have renewed hope. Like Coste, Maldonado didn`t start playing professionally until he was 23. While he hasn`t raked in the minors the way Coste did, he had a pretty decent year at Indianapolis in 2006. In the midst of his prime years now, he`d be as good a backup catcher as any for about half the teams in the majors.
