Corey puts the journey in journeyman. Drafted by Detroit as an infielder in 1993, he accumulated just five major league innings while passing through eight organizations plus the Yomiuri Giants before signing with Texas last year. Flipped to the desperate-for-relief Sox at the deadline and used in low-leverage roles, he gained Terry Francona`s favor for his ability to handle lefties (.225/.282/.352 in 71 AB), but whether he can repeat that is unknown.
