2009-04-08 15:00:00One last time and I'll let the issue die. Tell me some positives about Carlos Triunfel as a prospect.
(Aaron from YYZ)
Very young, fantastic plate coverage and an outstanding feel for contact. (Kevin Goldstein)
2009-03-25 13:00:00We often hear of the projection that a young player (e.g. an international signee like Carlos Triunfel or Wilmer Flores) will fill out, lose athleticism, and need to shift positions as he grows up while in the minors. How much of this projection comes from evidence/analysis by Medical personnel, versus speculation/experience by scouts?
(Aaron from YYZ)
Almost none from the medical side. There's more input with the draft and trades for the medical team and even that varies greatly from team to team. (Will Carroll)
2008-05-05 12:30:00Has the slow start of Carlos Triunfel changed your view of him as a prospect?
(MarinerDan from San Francisco)
No, not really. What's drawn me to Triunfel always has been his fabulous ability to make contact consistently, and that has not changed even after a bad month. He seems to have a decent enough plate approach, though I would like to see more walks. He's young enough where I'm not really worried, but I am wary of the fact that he's not making enough hard contact. (Bryan Smith)
