Egbert has a few things to recommend him. He`s a big guy who keeps hitters off-balance with his changeup and does an excellent job of keeping the ball on the ground. Still, the combination of his off-speed repertoire and mediocre walk rate suggests a pitcher who is working around batters rather than working at them, and that could mean trouble as he faces more advanced hitters. Egbert hasn`t been young for his levels, so it might be worth the Sox forcing the issue and getting him to Charlotte by June.
