2012-01-26 13:00:00I know you are really familiar with the Rangers, can you tell us more about Leonys Martin? What kind of speed and power potential do you see him having in Texas?
(Steve from Huntington Beach)
Not a burner, more like a guy with quick feet who is probably a 50/55 runner. Good power, not a light-tower freak show. Should be able to utilize a gap-to-gap approach with some bombs and lots of doubles. (Jason Parks)
2012-01-24 13:00:00Hope you can help me! In an AL-only dynasty league, which of these prospects would you NOT trade for JJ Hardy to fill a dire need at SS - Leonys Martin, Travis D'Arnaud, Dellin Betances, Matt Moore, Neil Ramirez, Anthony Gose
(jtanker33 from Dayton)
If you're all in for this season, then Moore is the only one I'd say is untouchable. That said, you shouldn't need to deal some of these other guys for Hardy either. D'Arnaud and Betances should be taken off the table if at all possible. I'd try to deal Ramirez first. (Derek Carty)
2011-11-16 13:30:00What are your thoughts on Leonys Martin, and do you think he will make an impact (defense and speed, specifically) on the Texas lineup? If so, what happens to Julio Borbon?
(jhardman from Apex, NC)
I think Martin is going to be a very good player. Does anyone actually care what happens to Julio Borbon (aside from Mrs. Borbon, if there is one)? (Ben Lindbergh)
2011-08-10 13:00:00I'm considering fathering another child and naming it Leonys Martin (Morris). Undecided so far on changing my own last name to Martin. Sound like a good idea?
(Adam J. Morris from Houston, TX)
I think Morris-Martin sounds like either 1) a Law Firm, 2) A badass cocktail with flamed orange peel, 3) A car I couldn't afford, or 4) The PTBNL in the Johnny Whittleman deal (Jason Parks)
2011-08-11 13:00:00Derek, gotta admit I was worried when Marc left, but you've continued to make fantasy coverage a bright spot for the site. Wondering about which call-ups over the next few weeks you think will have the biggest fantasy impact. Specifically, players like Montero who haven't been called up yet and may still be available. Thanks.
(DanDaMan from The Vineyard)
Thanks, Dan. I really appreciate the kind words.

We've seen most of the big names called up over the past couple weeks with guys like Goldschmidt, Lawrie, Trayon Robinson, and others getting the call. A few others still left in the minors that could prove valuable are Montero, Leonys Martin, Brett Jackson (if he continues hitting), Brad Peacock, Devin Mesoraco (if someone gets injured in Cincy), and maybe Matt Moore, especially with Alex Cobb done for the year. (Derek Carty)
2011-06-03 16:00:00Where would Leonys Martin go if he were eligible in this draft?
(tb3nn3tt from OKC)
Middle of the first somewhere? (Kevin Goldstein)
2011-05-04 19:00:00Hey Mr. Collette - :) Leonys Martin? Worth 15.5M?
(Byron from McKinney)
Not a bad price for him but but curious that he got the major league deal with the big signing bonus. (Jason Collette (note time))
2011-05-09 13:00:00Speaking of the '80s Chicago music scene, Eleventh Dream Day - criminally underrated. What exactly happens in extended spring training that Leonys Martin was sent there rather than to Frisco?
(ChuckR from Addison, IL)
Not sure I'm going go criminally there. What happens in extended is that the kid can get his feet wet in professional baseball and adjust to be in Estadas Unidos out of the spotlight. (Kevin Goldstein)
2011-04-13 13:00:00Inevitable question about Leonys Martin in 3....2....1...
(Rob from Alaska)
I've heard very good things about Martin. He can play a good CF (good routes/arm/quickness), he has wheels, and his approach at the plate is mature. That's a very good player. If the bat can make the transition against quality pitching, Martin could be a great player. It's a great sign for the Rangers. (Jason Parks)
2011-04-18 13:00:00Thoughts on Leonys Martin? Are the Rangers any closer to signing him and where would they likely send him? And what do you think about his bat as there are varying opinions on it.
(chadham from Austin, TX)
The deal should get done, but there's always some legal hurdles with these kind of deal. Good run, good CF, good bat. Think Julio Borbon with a good approach. (Kevin Goldstein)
