Great work this year guys. All ranking debate aside, this article was just absolutely hilarious and fun. I laughed 101 times!

I'm curious how <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/card.php?id=60408">Randal Grichuk</a></span>, <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/card.php?id=59265">Khris Davis</a></span> (or even <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/card.php?id=46716">Mark Trumbo</a></span>) could be Top 40, yet <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/card.php?id=67744">Adam Duvall</a></span> is not? They all have similar profiles. Do I overvalue Duvall's youth and production, or do I undervalue his team context?

I agree with all of your points - this looks real and sustainable. But why no mention of the injuries dampening the Buy recommendation? Or does Wil's injury history not bother you?

Great work guys! Can I ask about a few differences from the non-fantasy top 50? <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/card.php?id=101384">Josh Hader</a></span>, <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/player_search.php?search_name=Luis+Ortiz">Luis Ortiz</a></span>, <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/card.php?id=104863">Sean Newcomb</a></span>, <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/card.php?id=101198">Yohander Mendez</a></span>; do you feel they are all destined for the bullpen? Between command, frame or delivery, all 4 of <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/card.php?id=101728">Reynaldo Lopez</a></span>, <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/player_search.php?search_name=Luis+Ortiz">Luis Ortiz</a></span>, <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/card.php?id=104863">Sean Newcomb</a></span> and <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/card.php?id=101198">Yohander Mendez</a></span> seem destined for bullpen roles. Great article! The offseason <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/card.php?id=102437">Braden Shipley</a></span> madlib captured it for me. I think the Colin McHugh example illustrated an interesting related idea. If you have but one season of brilliance before failing to adapt, do you average as a mid-rotation arm? I'd still call him a BORP. Then again, given how few #1s there are, how many #2s are asked to pitch as #1s, and thus 3s as 2s, 4s as 3s, and so forth. There is no such thing as a mid rotation arm.

That's pretty harsh, though I agree it's tough to appreciate Mondesi's toolset when KC keeps promoting him before he can demonstrate sustained success. I think it's a misnomer though to suggest he hasn't shown progress on the basis of metrics alone.

I think another major factor is the bizarre MLB schedule this year. There was a heavy front-loading of patterned intra-division play, resulting in numerous looks between teams that already have pretty good scouting reports on each other. For example, poor <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/card.php?id=50062">Chris Tillman</a></span> faced the Blue Jays three times in a row I think. <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/card.php?id=65895">Jimmy Nelson</a></span> faced the Cubs three times in a row. A lot of pitchers have been exposed as if this was their third time around the league...in April. It was bizarre

Great list and interesting take. The Nick Tropeano trade looks just as bad (for the Astros) here as it did in reality! I would contend Tyler Thornburg is out of the running as a SP in milwaukee, especially after he really shined in relief and then spent 3/4 of the year on DL with a UCL partial tear. I know everyone says he's next in line but I don't buy it. Hiram Burgos maybe is next?

When you talk about the fantasy difference between say Francisco Lindor, Ketel Marte, or even Franklin Barreto, the counting stats and even average seem pretty consistent. I caught Jordan Zimmerman a couple times last year and walked away supremely impressed. Sure his stuff isn't all "filthy", but everything added together was just this smooth non-stop attack of the strike zone. Nice series of articles. Keeping with the NL East, you've written nice things about Tyler Kolek. Would Zimmerman be a reasonable (albeit "lite") comp for Kolek? Fast ball first, smooth mechanics. I've also heard Randy Johnson from some, and "there is no comp for Kolek" from others.

Nice article, and I agree the analysis tends to tilt Semien. Given the A's predisposition to platoon, what are the chances Semien becomes a super-utility bench bat playing on the soft side of a platoon? And more, does that platoon start this year, sapping potential value?

Definitely loving these articles. Keep up the good work. Ton of second division regulars coming in the 2B pipeline. The position is in an interesting state of flux, as alluded in the article yesterday

Speaking of converting short stops, I'd likely list Wilmer Difo here as a nice fantasy 2B for 2016 and beyond.

Great article. Thank you for the AJ Reed enthusiasm. In all seriousness, I wonder about the lack of enthusiasm in prospect circles for A.J. Reed. In a power starved fantasy market, even a declining 1B market, why wouldn't you buy a guy who can hit, walk, and hit for power? Those qualities lead me to rank AJ as the #1 1B prospect today, followed by Matt Olson of the A's. I have fatigue with Vogelbach and Domonic needs to prove it.

Let's see how Rowdy Tellez handles the jump this year. Looks like a guy that will climb these rankings pretty quick. Nice article

Nice in-depth take on Kennys Vargas. Most may miss that he can actually take a walk. Very undervalued this year

Actually this is why I fail to understand the cold water some throw on a prospect like Domonic Smith, hitting in the toughest park in the low minors - why do we undervalue 1B only prospects because they are pressured to produce 25+ HR power? When you look at the major league, how many 1B are truly producing at that level in today's 1B marketplace? Good article

Age context aside, Micker Adolfo 's season line was UGLY. Could be a Courtney Hawkins clone. But Micker and especially Trey Michalczewski look very promising for fantasy. Great work guys!

Interesting that Julian Deleon didn't make top dynasty catchers . His scouting reports and production are similar to F Mejia. Nice on inclusion for On the Rise. Thanks guys

Great analysis, thank you for the contrarian reasoning on Nick Gordon. I am mildly surprised at the number of pitchers for fantasy dynasty in the top 25, instead of potential 5 tool bats falling outside (Monte Harrison and Alex Verdugo in particular, but even the high upside power of AJ reed/Bobby Bradley too) Is this simply because the pitchers have the pedigree/proximity to have average+ major league impact, or am I undervaluing this year's pitchers class relative to the fantasy player field overall? Average+ pitching is so deep overall in the majors..
