Will the Cubs BP site be ready for Opening Day? Or, is it still a couple weeks out?
I bought two tickets as separate purchases. I hope this was ok.
You praise the hitters in last nights game when four of the 10 runs were scored without someone getting a hit. Interesting.
I would like to have seen a poll for the readers.
Oh No Yu didn't!
Those pants make that guy look seven feet tall. It also helps that the lady taking his picture appears to be sitting down. Or, she is putting her leg on something. Also, that he is clearly taller than a wall in the background.
Would it be possible to create the MiLBPA to ensure that these players are receiving a fair wage? I imagine the owners might not like to battle two unions. Perhaps the MiLBPA could be an arm of the MLBPA.
I would say he no longer qualifies. He had over 300 PA last year.
Why is Polanco called El Coffee?
From what I've read elsewhere in regards to Bryant is that the Cubs want him to play more 3B. The Cubs have a 3B at AAA, Christian Villanueva, whom from what I've read is someone they would like to have more playing time.
It might be a matter of organizational depth and development.
This is great!
Freaks and Geeks. Love it.
Anthony Rizzo did this twice yesterday. He was happy to basically take his free base.
I don't have a suggestion, but I know I don't like instant walkoff. I would think of a HR as an instant walkoff.
I love how the gifs don't start until your mouse rolls over them.
It appears that @CalKendrick95 has been taken down. Perhaps a call from his dad?
He is on the 40 man roster which wouldn't prevent him from being called up, and receive playing time sometime this season.
Javier Baez hit a HR yesterday. I wish there was video.
You must have been famished, I'm still eating.
I'm not an expert. Trout will most likely break the record for salary in arbitration. So, what a team will do is offer a fair amount for those arb years while gaining some cost certainty for their roster planning in the future. Since the team is assuming a risk of guaranteeing the contract they will ask for a year or two of the player's first crack at the open market that will most likely come at a discount. But, the recent Freddie Freeman extension kinda shows that the huge discount that players used to provide might be coming to an end. See McCutchen's deal for a great player on a very team friendly deal.
I'm assuming Machado is on this list for redraft leagues. I have him in a keeper league and I'm not giving up already.
Nice. I can get off the Edens before it merges with the Kennedy.
Thanks Doug. Are you taking notes as your watching the game, or are you able to remember the pitches? Do you chart the pitches?
Thank you both for talking me off the ledge. I saw Rizzo and bust in the same sentence and cried.
Those aren't pillows!!
Now it's "not all that interested". Perhaps they just kicked the tires.
I just saw on MLB trade rumors that the Indians were interested in Bobby Abreu.
Brooks Basball has him at 93.
Perhaps ARod called Mariano Muerto (spanish for dead) because he "put down" the other team.
I'm not entirely sure, but I don't think a scouting report will analyze how a home stadium change will effect a particular player's game.
When I downloaded it went to the bottom. The date says Dec 31, 2000
In regards to the Rangers. From what I've read it's not that easy to tell Kinsler he is changing positions. If they listened to me I would advise them to look into to moving him.
How did you arrive at your 2012 and 2013 top ten? FIP, WARP, or other?
I dropped Phillips in my keeper league after this year. I didn't want to pay his high salary and the league doesn't count RBI's (Ottoneu).
Paul and Doug from the TINSTAAP podcast recorded last night while watching the game. I wish I could have just listened to them talk while watching the game.
don't call me Shirley
Is it possible the site maintenance has improved the gif performance? This article used to be hell for me with all the gifs.
It's probably the natural or safe reaction for the manager to be reportedly unhappy, or upset with the decision of the team's hitting coach being fired.
I believe this happened last year with the Angels. They fired their hitting coach and I recall that Scioscia was also upset by the decision of management.
George Brett's turn ons "Pooping One's Pants". What?
Darvish for his heat, Corbin for his slider, and Samardzija for his split
Buehrle vs NYY?
I would think that if Chapman stated he prefers to close, and the Reds started him anyway, his confidence might not be as high.
Is it possible to add HBP in the Pitcher categories for the PFM? My points league assigns negative points when a pitcher hits someone.
I agree with David, great read.
R.J. Alvarez's arm slot example image does not come up on the site that is linked.
My personal favorite, Elier Hernandez last in projected WARP guy at -2.1.
Seems logical, but you wouldn't want to back load so much as to scare off potential suitors down the road.
Is the plant on top of the tv hiding the antenna?
Working in the Seinfeld reference was great.
Would it be possible or necessary to draft language in future contracts that would let teams out from under them in the case of a player be caught using PED's?
What does Darvish call that?
Is Chicago in the works?
Nice! It's because of football that I can barely listen to sports radio. Even during the summer they don't talk enough baseball. I secretly hope that MLB adds MLB Network Radio to the MLB.tv package this year. I can't see paying for sirius/xm for only one channel.
Does TBS or MLB report on how many people use their predictive games? I think more and more shows will start using this second screen experience and they will gain instant access to their viewers.
I agree with no more crying baby. My headphones were turned all the way up. No bueno.
It used to be about the music!
Tell me more of this BP idol.
There is only 9 left in stock. I hope you ordered one.
You used the word Hobo. Love it.
Michael Mediocre was a stud in the PCL, what Happened?
What they said.
You're right. I try to pay close attention to every game I attend and there is always something that can pull my attention away for few pitches every inning.
Hitting is not about muscle, it's simple physics
Of course I couldn't only watch that one clip of Paul O'Neill
I wouldn't say you have all winter off. You might receive a few weeks then you start prepping for spring by watching tape and reading reports.
This show was hilarious. I was pleasured aurally.
In a couple years Vitters might be poised to take over at 3B
Just a note - Dempster is on the DL for a strained Lat
Right. What they said.
