I wonder how many high school players had a high school coach kill the joy of the game for them and the players took that attitude to affiliated ball with them?

My problem with the Frank Robinson solution is do you really want to yank your #1 pitcher after two innings of wildness in the middle of pennant race.

I like reading about system rankings to see how bleak things could be for teams like the Angels, Tigers, and White Sox if things go wrong two years from now.

Great of example of a system that ignores international talent and places players below their age-development curve.

Is Javier Baez that big of a baby as am reading about the Cubs moving him to 3rd ? I heard he has had outburst this year in Arizona on the field and inside the dugout when told to field the position.

I saw one of the Lookouts vs Wahoos game where Hamilton stole two bases back to back off of Allen Webster. Webster didn't even both with him. One scout sitting behind me commented that he believes that you will eventually see teams beaning him to start off games so he has something to think about on the base paths with the hope it slows him down some.... It wouldn't shock me at all with Reds play it safe with Billy after he gets the record.

It puzzles me how Skaggs can field his position with how far he goes across the mound once he delivers the ball. I watched him several times the past 2 years and never noticed that....

What would you do with the problem the Reds have in both Billy Hamilton and Didi Gregorius? Phillips isn't going anywhere.

The most interesting tidbits out of all of this to me is that: 1. Major League baseball uses Fedex to deliver samples for testing for MLB players to a lab in Montreal. 2. Samples from Minor league players go to a lab in Salt Lake City. 3. A tester took the sample home and stored it in a refrigerator until he could bring it to an open FedEx center. Its rumored that two other unnamed Brewers also failed tests from the same package. 4. That the leak of Braun's failed test came from someone within the Brewers Front Office. 5. Braun's defense hinting they contested whether the urine sample was even Braun's.

Great article. I think a lot of the backlash comes from Hamilton's Christian faith. Feel sorry for his wife.

How many position players at six-foot-seven have made it to the Majors ? Seems like they are all pitchers.
