Addison Russell the 3rd baseman would rank...
Is there any concern over the fact that D'Arnaud is older and still has not debuted? How many starts players are still in the minors at 24?
5 years later this reads like it was an Onion article. This things that stood out to me:
The Indians are happy with the roster that got them within one game of the World Series last season
Colorado: The Rockies don't have much tweaking to do to a roster that got them to the World Series last season.
The Indians have plenty of expendable players to offer, including ...left-handers Cliff Lee
The best part about Bobby Bo's contract (actually one of the best because there are many) is the fact that it was structured the way it is due to the Wilpon's relationship with Bernie Madoff. It was perfectly reasonable to defer paying his contract as long as the Wilpons could invest that money with Madoff and get those GUARANTEED returns...
Why isn't David Wright mentioned as an MVP candidate? If McCutchen and Headley are included then why leave out Wright?
Ryan Howard is clutch because the Mets are never allowed to win a game at home after July 5th.
I actually had the same questions. I am somewhat new around here but I was expecting the Weighted Means and the 50% PECOTA to be somewhat similiar but they are very different. Is my understanding of the purpose of the 2 totally off or is tehre an update in the works?
Is Daniel Murphy or Justin Turner even worth discussing at 2nd?
As a Met fan I am also upset that Will, from a thousand miles away, stated in an Under The Knife a few weeks back that Reyes ERD would be July 20th while the Mets, with million of dollars invested in the guy and being able to see him up close, fed everyone the "day to day" line. I personally do not even blame the trainers. The organization as a whole seems to have a real probably dealing with issues as they arise.
Will, you mentioned the need to get Beltran back in the lineup as soon as possible. While I understand that his playing days may be numbered due to the injury (and so a rehab stint would result in wasting the few bullets he has left) but what would be the best way to ensure that he is ready to go once he is healthy? Jose Reyes has looked EXTREMELY rusty this year. Granted Reyes misse dnearly a year while Bealtran played in September but what would be the best course of action to ensure that Beltran is game ready without him playing in an extensive amount of rehab games?
Great article Will, TONS of good stuff. Regarding Bradley, I am sure that his past teams have had him reach out to their EAPs before. Any idea why that process would be different this time? I understand that is it really nobody's business but I think it would be interesting to know if this time Bradley asked for help while in the past perhaps he was mandated by the team to join an EAP.
