Nice work. I know it's not your column, but, any chance we can get the OF Value Picks going again?

I think this is a great idea! I bet Ham will get hurt any minute now...

Russel Martin vs Kurt Suzuki. Martin had almost gone 20 20 a few years ago, now on the Yankees you have his ceiling at 10 10. I assume this is because of his injury history and maybe losing some time if montero is brought up? So would it be better to go with Suzuki who will receive the most ABs by a C (prob the safer bet). or take the chance on Martin?

Just made a trade getting rid of Hamilton and getting Kemp in return. Had Ham last year killed me the last month, I would rather go for the younger player who is the safer bet with similar stats I feel but more SB and in a keeper league Id rather keep Kemp over Ham for next year if it were to come down to that. thoughts?

Brittons projections are pretty bad at a 5.00 era and 1.60 whip, although his minor league stats don't seem to make him look bad. I picked him up because he seems comparable if not better than Jaime Garcia in the minors and why not take a chance. Is there something I'm missing? maybe the little time in AAA? or being in BAL?

I am Currently in a Keeper League where we keep 2 Hitters and 2 SP. We use 6x6 Runs, HR, RBI, SB, AVG and TB. I am having trouble in drafting a 3B and wanted to run something by you. Players being kept/taken before I pick will be Longoria, Wright, Zimmerman, Youk, Arod, Beltre. So this leaves me looking at Bautista, Prado, Young, Alvarez, Sandoval, Reynolds, Aramis. I am currently very shaky on Bautista especially since I feel id have to pick him in the 1st or 2nd round. (maybe take Dunn instead) I'm not feeling too high on Young considering his situation in Texas and feel like last year could have been Prado's career year. Was thinking maybe pass up on Bautista, Young, Prado and try to scoop up either Alvarez, Sandoval or Reynolds up late? Just wondering if you agree, or have any suggestions to how I should go about this. Thanks

Hey Rob, Same scenario as before have these three guys wanted to see what you were thinking. Got Fielder, Hamilton, Choo, Kinsler gotta keep only two. I was leaning towards Fielder & Hamilton. Hamiltons health concerns me as well as Kinsler where as Choo is so consistent. Figured I would run it by you for the final verdict. Thanks

Rob, Good stuff as always. I can keep 2 of the following 3 players - AGon, ARod, Ryan Howard. I'm definitely keeping AGon, who would you keep of the remaining players? At first I was leaning towards Howard, but, after taking a look at the 3b class this year I'm considering Arod. Standard 5 categories + total bases Two utility spots Thanks

Dan Haren has never played well in the 2nd half of the season usually his ERA is 4.15 or higher, His K's usually stay the same, His Whip has consistently been bad besides for last year it was 1.258 which anything over 1.00 is bad for him in the first half, Opponents OPS climb around .200 pts to the high 700s, his BAbip usually jump about .100 pts from mid .200s to mid .300s, his tOPS+ jumps about 60pts to about 135 140, and his sOPS+ jumps about 40 pts to a little above 100. If this is his usual trend since 2007 why is he going to get better? and for the past 12 months he has estimating 4.49era 1.29whip 8.6k per 9 going 12-12. Usually I agree with everything you say but I am going to need more convincing on him and would love if you could further prove your point for me on him. Thanks, Love your work

Thanks for answering my Hamilton, Lee, Quentin question. I currently have them on my team along with Hunter. We have 3 OF spots and 2 util. stats are avg, hr, sb, tb, rbi runs. I have a strong SP of Cain, Wainwright, Verlander, Lilly, Dempster, Jaime Garcia, recently got wandy for his past 3 starts and on the fringe with slowey. I currently have the best staff in my league and am looking for hitting help. I have a Beltran 4 Jaime Garcia trade in the works. (noone seems too high on Jaime and im worried after tonights game he will be sitting around 100 IP and should be shut down soon) what are your thoughts?

Mainly I would like to know your thoughts on Josh Hamilton. In his 2008 season he went .310 60runs 21hr 95rbi 7sb in the first half of the season and finished the second half with .296 38runs 11hr 35rbi 2sb. It was in 30 less games and 130 less ABs but still would like to know your intake. Sell high possibly? and then quickly do you think Carlos Quentin will continue hitting? and finally is Carlos Lee back for good he seems to be walking more and Kin less hes hit 5 hr and 15+ rbi past 2 months

My team consists of Kinsler, Fielder, Rollins, Kouz (ARam), Choo, Hunter, Hamilton, Carlos Lee, Quentin. 10 team league stats R RBI HR TB SB AVG. we use 2 Util spots. would trading away Ham 4 cano be a smart idea for me? I feel like they are similar but in 2008 Ham seemed to die off 2nd half where as Cano seems to play the same 1st and 2nd half year after year.

Bill, I'm done with John Lackey and I'm ready move on with some other options. Right now I'm considering Pavano, Paulino, Chacin and Morrow. Who do you think is my best long term option?

I have Aramis Ramirez and Chone Figgins at 3b league rules are 5x5 with TB as well 10 team league. Blake was just dropped in my league so I guess I should pick him up over Figgins looking at your past statements. Callaspo and Polanco are also out there tho. Is it time to cut loose Ramirez who has been riding the bench? And since Kubel was mentioned I was thinkin about pickin him up as well, I have Carlos Lee too dump him too? What do I do? Thanks

Also worried when it comes September he may be shut down, He only threw 37.2 innings last year in the minors I believe too. Thats a little worrisome too right?

It has been said the Phillies have been scouting Jenks. I currently have Contreras, not high on him but cannot discredit what he has done. Do you see this happening and Thornton becoming closer? I feel like eventually he should take over duties at some point even if Jenks is not traded and feel like he is much better than Contreras. Also do you see Contreras losing his job to Lidge (hes making 11.5mil this year and signed till 2012). Where as Contreras is done after this year and is 38. Maybe even have a Jenks, Lidge, Contreras competition if they do make a trade.

Rob, With Willingham, Ibanez and Andruw Jones available in my league, do I cut my losses and drop Quentin? Or should I hold him and ride him on the bench until I see some production? And who do you like out of the 3 available OF's? (I have a feeling you will pick "the hammer")
