Great article! Thank you for the insight. At least there's one media outlet covering the questions and angles that arise from this story, aside from the "I still think he did it" angle that ESPN and the mainstream media have taken to reporting on.
Slate had a great story on why a procedural issue is enough to drop this charge. http://slate.me/yMAXSN
Awesome news, guys. I love it.
That SF/Arizona thing looks weird. Zona's up 3 in the loss column and the Giants have had more runs scored on them than they've scored this year. Take into consideration all of the DL time SF has now, and I don't think that looks right. Do we really believe that the Giants' second string is that good?
When it comes to Bautista, one word comes to mind... "Quack."
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck... it's probably a duck.
Just a subtle warning. Don't want everyone to go gaga then have egg on their face when we find out he was working with Brian McNamee or something. Know what I mean?
I love the Rhymes pickup, especially with Wood being on the outs. Gives you an MI player and easier to fill that U spot.
Too bad The Rza and Masterson have both been kicked down to the pen in recent days. Other than that, that's a REAL solid team. I like the way you look for this year.
I'm wondering if we could see a preview of Tom Gorzelanny, now that he's in Washington. I have an option to keep him at 6 bucks in a 12 team NL only league with 10% inflation, where the budget on pitching gets as high as 36% overall.
To the above quote (since the direct reply function doesn't seem to be working): "That this guy has a vote says everything you need to know about what is wrong with the HOF. That this guy writes for BP says every you need to know about how much BP has changed, and why this the year I don't renew my subscription." - That's kinda what I was thinking too.
His article was changed after I posted about Santo.
How about Pete Rose and Shoeless Joe? Or Trammell at shortstop? Tim Raines? Ron Santo?
I'll go with...
C Thurman Munson (hey, if you're putting in Mattingly, I can put in Munson)
1B Pete Rose (I'll just put him here)
2B Lou Whitaker
3B Ron Santo
SS Alan Trammell
LF Tim Raines
CF Dom DiMaggio
RF Joe Jackson
I could go Bob Caruthers or Tony Mullane. I'll go Jim Kaat, though I think the Hall has done a good job of celebrating the true greats in pitching. Maybe too good a job Rube Marquard
Where is Justin Turner?
That's a very low K-rate, though.
I use a formula to go from picks in a snake draft to auction values. I use this for auction prep when I only have snake draft data available.
Kinda the opposite of what you're looking for, but maybe the math whizzes can take a shot at it with that knowledge.
Daily updates on dollar values for players, both in league-specific and mixed league terms. That would help.
