Maybe it's because I'm in an <span class="statdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/glossary/index.php?search=OBP" onmouseover="doTooltip(event, jpfl_getStat('OBP'))" onmouseout="hideTip()">OBP</span></a> league... but <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/player_search.php?search_name=Jose+Ramirez">Jose Ramirez</a></span> is no one's disappointment. He's rated 80 in my 15 team league after finishing 77 last year. He's traded some <span class="statdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/glossary/index.php?search=SB" onmouseover="doTooltip(event, jpfl_getStat('SB'))" onmouseout="hideTip()">SB</span></a> for <span class="statdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/glossary/index.php?search=HR" onmouseover="doTooltip(event, jpfl_getStat('HR'))" onmouseout="hideTip()">HR</span></a>, but otherwise is dead-on for his R & <span class="statdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/glossary/index.php?search=RBI" onmouseover="doTooltip(event, jpfl_getStat('RBI'))" onmouseout="hideTip()">RBI</span></a> totals.
No potential for a Dodger Stadium visit?
What about <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/player_search.php?search_name=Eduardo+Rodriguez">Eduardo Rodriguez</a></span>? Does he not qualify due to high ownership? Where would he place on this list otherwise?
Agree with davewoody12. But seriously though, what is up with Wainwright?
Is <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/card.php?id=16632">Chase Utley</a></span> droppable in a 15 teamer? I have Duffy & <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/card.php?id=47625">Alcides Escobar</a></span> covering my 2B and <span class="statdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/glossary/index.php?search=MI" onmouseover="doTooltip(event, jpfl_getStat('MI'))" onmouseout="hideTip()">MI</span></a>.
I've got one issue with this comp, and the series in general in that it awards category "wins" as if all fantasy were a series of head to head matchups. In reality, owners looking at these two would need to compare the magnitude of those differences to get a sense of the overall value to their team. In this case, it seems to me that Mazara's chance to provide high-end power with a plus average would win out every time over an empy avg with speed/runs. Potential .300/30/100 hitters don't exactly grow on trees.
Sweet baby jesus I need some SS help. Have Cozart as my backup MI, 0fer the season. Best options on waivers are Amarista, Hicks, Izturis, Sogard. Will Izturis get enough playing time to help?
I would love to hear some commentary about how Sabathia's weight loss (good for him!) can/will/might impact his season. More stamina? Less fastball? I have no idea, please enlighten me!
bline24 - This probably has a lot to do with the depth of your league. As I've moved into deeper leagues (14 & 15 teams, which I acknowledge isn't super deep) I've seen the growing importance of draft day. There are fewer and fewer chances to acquire talent. That said, one of our managers missed the auction draft last year, made double the moves of anyone else in the league, and finished in 4th place.

I have Chris Tillman and Dillon Gee rotting away at the bottom of my 15 team mixer, and only 4 other starters in a 1500 IP cap league. Is it worth the downtime to stash Straily now? I also have Wil Myers eating up a bench spot.
What about examining # of days on the DL? Would that give us a better impact of the injuries thus far?
It is frustrating that the Reds & Cubs trades have not been reflected here. Does the recently posted #1 organizational ranking include Cashner and the Reds trio? Were they #1 w/o those trades, thus extending their lead on the rest of MLB? Also, because the Reds list was published after the trade, there is no top-11 write up for the propspects included!
Where do we find out how much players "earned" last year? Is there a way to do this in PFM using our league settings?
If everyone is going to have to drive somewhere, it might as well be a destination worth driving to. I suggest the South Bay, specifically a bar called Beaches in Manhattan Beach, with stellar views of the beach and ocean during the day, from the top floor of the restaurant. This, from Yelp:
Disclaimer is that I know NOTHING about going out here. All I know is that if you want to go somewhere for a decent burger, breathtaking ocean view, and cheap drinks on a sunday afternoon right on the strand* with no wait in Manhattan Beach; then this is your spot. Sit on the top floor open air patio or at the bar and stare out at the ocean and pier.
* the strand is the sidewalk bordering the beach.
Parking will be a pain, but it will be worth it. The upstairs area will fit 40 people, easy.
How much of your $100 budget do you spend on Smoak? 14 team 5x5 mixed league?
I can't remember, did Rickie Weeks injure his wrist sliding into second, or was it at bat?
PS - Mark, Sunglasses at Night jokes are ALWAYS necessary.
I'm glad there was a bug identified with the stolen bases. I'm in a 15 team league and PFM kept telling me Crawford was $20 more valuable than Pujols (speaking of - why the drop off in SLG and HR? I don't see it).
Instead of sorting alphabetically, just search for vlookup in the excel help menu.
If Feliz only pitches 65 innings, all anyone is going to see is gas, gas, gas. Either bump up the innings or cut those ratios in half.
The Angels, seriously? You lose Figgins, Lackey and Oliver and replace them with... who? It's easy to see the Rangers offense returns to the top of the league, and the pitching building on last year's success (Feliz!). The Mariners have no one to win games behind Felix and Lee, and no one to drive in runs behind Figgins and Ichiro. The only surprise in these projections is the A's pitching. But they don't have the bats to do anything about it. The Rangers are the most complete team in the division and should win easily.
erm... still waiting for the Rangers.
