You guys have a team that should be great for years to come.
No team has ML ready players at every position in the minors. The draft doesn't allow this to happen.
I interned with the Mets in the Media Relations department last year and I got a bunch of those calls. Usually they were about the moves Omar wasn't making. There's just no pleasing Mets fans.
Are you going to do a recap of the entire draft? What do you think of the Yankees 2nd round pick of JR Murphy? I don't know much about any of these players, but I heard that Renfroe was a good option there and they need to start looking for Jeter's replacement and they have 2 good catchers in Montero and Romine and are rumored to go after Gary Sanchez. Are they just waiting to get Miguel Sano when they're allowed to sign international players in July.
I kept him on a fantasy team that I inherited last year thinking I could deal him early on this season. I knew a decline was coming just not this fast. Hopefully it's not all decline and will be fixed soon.
Is there any chance Strasburg slips in the draft like Porcello did a couple of years ago? From what I understand Boras could look for a 7-figure bonus and given the economy and some teams frugal approach to spending in the draft I think there's a possibility. How far, if at all, do you think he'll drop? Is there any chance he drops all the way to the Yankees at 28?
I was there on Friday and thought it was a huge improvement over Shea. I interned with the Mets last year and and after not going to Shea very often, I'm a Yankees fan, realized how dirty it was. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that you couldn't check out any of the sections you were not sitting in.My friend wanted to see if you were able to see pop ups from the back of the middle tier and the guy wouldn't allow us. I also wanted to check out the group tickets section in LF where they have the picnic tables and the guy wouldn't even let me walk into the wheelchair seating part. It was just a big turn off to me, but overall it's a really nice stadium.
It's because people love to hate the Yankees.
That's the point. The field is supposed to look exactly the same. If the inside of the old ballpark didn't need a big upgrade than the new stadium wouldn't have been built.
I think I've figured the decrease in BAA against right handed hitters, or at least some of it, last year. Since Chien-Ming Wang was injured there were less ground balls that were hit hard.
I've been saying for the past few years that Jeter should move to the OF.
I guess they're taking a page out of the St. Louis Browns' handbook.
Two years ago I started saying the Yankees should consider trading Matsui. Now that we know he can't really play the Of could he still have some trade potential? I'd like to think that if he comes out of the gate strong we can get something of value in return.
That's why I said usually, but 1400+ RBI with a .306 OBP is amazing.
Can you expand on the Chris Perez move? I drafted him in one of my fantasy leagues with a 35 move roster limit. Should I just pick up someone else?
In order to drive in runs you usually have to get on base.
Wish I could've been there. Maybe next year.
