Thank you, this is awesome and will be fun to follow going forward.
Any thoughts on including a Doug Thorburn, Raising Aces-type of mechanics report card with the analysis of the hitters?
Might also be nice to see Jose Bautista evaluated at different points in his career to see the mechanical changes broken down.
Pedroia might qualify for a rebound list, since he played through a left thumb ligament tear almost all of last year.
Great work on this list and all the team top 10's, but I think a simple line of the tools under each prospect would be nice. The link is obviously helpful, but providing a quick snapshot of the tools on this page would be great, so it would look like this using Buxton as an example:
1. Byron Buxton, OF, Minnesota Twins
Scouting Report (most recent) link
2013 Ranking: 8
The Tools: 8 run; 6 arm; 7 potential glove; 7 raw; 6 potential hit
Kinsler signed an extension with Rangers through 2017 with a team option for 2018. I don't think he has to worry about losing any "value" since the extension was 5yrs/$75M.
As pointed out elsewhere, Young was not happy moving to 3B for Andrus and had to actually be talked into it by Kinsler. Guess he just needs to find a mirror.
If you're interested in beginning a discussion rather than a proposal to start, then send an email or add comments to the feeler offer to let the other owner know your intentions.
Also, it helps to make an actual offer or at least try to identify the opposing team owner's needs and begin the discussion that way.
I just find it ironic that Toronto broadcasters (Hayhurst and Morris) are implicating someone as a cheater, when their team has been accused of cheating on several occasions for stealing signs at the Rogers Centre.
Nice concept and article. Thanks Bret.
Any thoughts on doing the opposite, where a pitcher you like long term has a difficult schedule to start the season and could be targeted for trades? Or possibly waiver wire picks up come May, if their owner gets frustrated with their poor early performance.
When can we expect the scout's views to start again? Hopefully soon now that games have begun.
Great job with all the team reports and top 101 this year.
Just a suggestion on the top 101 list, put the tools blurb from the scouting reports next to the player's name.
1. Jurickson Profar, SS, Rangers
The Tools: 7 hit; 6+ arm; 6+ potential glove; 5+ power potential; 5 run

Vin Scully makes MLB.tv worth every penny.
Any word on Aaron Hicks and his recent power surge (4 doubles and 3 HRs)? Is there a change in his approach? He has been knocked previously for being too passive at the plate and not displaying much, if any, in-game power.
Thanks for the weekly in-depth reports and the daily updates. Keep them coming!
Any thoughts on Addison Reed competing with Matt Thornton for the closer role with the CWS?
Any news on Billy Hamilton's defense at SS this year?
I concur. Great work, please keep it coming.
Any word on JA Happ? Is he going to make his scheduled start tomorrow? How effective will he be?
Tommy Hanson and Kris Medlen have been just as good if not better than both those duos.
No love for what Hector Rondon has done so far?
