Does Aledmys Diaz push Wong off 2B?
Is Bradley Zimmer relatd to Kyle Zimmer, P, KC?
What happens to Rickie Weeks? Is he done, is he depth for the Brewers, or will he be traded? Thanks!
If you look at the picture of him on the front page, it looks the same. Perhaps both pictures were taken around the same time?
LOVE!!! Need more, soon!
I am sorry if this is the result of an accident or birth defect.
Is something wrong with Urias' left eye or was he just squinting or recovering from blackeye?
I'm not looking for pretty faces, I am concerned for a LHP with a left eye issue being able to hold runners.
I am going to google cabrera's injury, but any details to share here?
Thoughts on Erick Julio, please. Thank you.
Trumbo is gritty?
"Ocean Breathes Salty", Like.
But, "Positional assignments in the winter leagues aren’t as indicative of an organization’s plans as they are in the AFL because teams don’t have as much say on how their players are used in other countries, but it’s still interesting."
Re Yorman, are sports = spurts + spots? I like it.
"The End"? No AFL MLU? Withdrawal!
Wait 'Til Next Year!
" The eight starts." for Cory Jones are missing.
Ian Kinsler is no Mike Young.
"[Norris] gets nervous in big situations... [Wacha]’s not afraid of big-league hitters."
If you had the Astros behind you, wouldn't you be afraid? If you had the Cardinals behind, wouldn't you be fearless?
Correa? Wait for Part II?
" Baez wears his chain out"
Literally or figuratively? If the latter, what does that mean?
Are suggesting putting a baseclogger like Burrell at the top of the order?
Don't we also have to add runs to the visiting team as well? Did I miss something? Thanks.
Will the Strasburg-Stanton Showdown be the final word on the Immovable Object Irresistable Force debate?
I wonder if Front Office Types wonder the same thing - "wtf does Mike Tyson physicality mean"?
Thanks, as always, for this great work and all you do.
What does, "mid-rotation workhorse" mean? Can you relate that to a numbered starter?
Are Sano's errors those of throwing, glove, or both?
Post Reply still doesn't work for me...so, @BPKevin, wasn't PNC designed for LHP?
I would feel better if KG had some input on this.
Seriously, no Trivium? no Pelican?
better to sell a year early than a year late?
Thank you very much for this, great info.
Do any of these guys have MLB regular or bench floors or are they all or nothing types?
"When I saw Lindor play in person on Monday, it just felt like seeing something special".
This is how I felt seeing Joe Mauer against Bowie. I had seen Jorge Posada, Manny Ramirez, Cliff Floyd and others in AA, but Mauer was special.
Could you possibly rate by specialness those you have seen in person?
"We get so much stuff every day that my eyes almost tear up from reading it all."
I read this concept over and over and can not help but to cringe that these "analysts" are doing analysis and themselves a tremedous disservice - our job is to deliver the right data to the right folks at the right time - it is not the DUMP data.
Who cares about the face, does “He ha[ve] some sexy calves”?
Does Nieuwenhuis have an 80 face? Does he have all 5 tools - eyes, lips, hair, bone structure, and can he smeyes?
Thought this was a nice resource... http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20120328&content_id=27696762&vkey=news_min&c_id=min
"quiet confidence" the new fragrance by Lewis-Beane.
"“Without the names on the back of the jersey, you'd guess he was one of their top prospects,"
What a great idea. A sort of blind study.
"Trevor Bauer...“He won't be in the minors for long,”"
Right, as soon as he's assured of not obtaining Super 2 status, right?
This is why I have a copy of The Bell Jar and The Tao of Pooh.
what the bat boy saw, it was against the law...
Is there a scouting report available on this kid?
I don't get it, but I want to, please explain, thanks!
"Ed Wade took Delino DeShields, Jr., with the organization’s first-round pick last year"
George Springer was Houston's first pick last year.
I want to know who can hammer a six inch spike through a board with their penis - a girl has to have her standards!
Isn't Posey moving to 1B at least part time? This is not snark or sarcasm, I really thought he was moving there.
Sorry, should have done the research first, "Allie has a second plus-plus offering in an upper-80s power slider with heavy biting action".
I am not a Sox fan, so this is not be read as an indictment of your rankings, what is the difference between Soptic and Stetson Allie?
In the Top 10 Under 25 list, does the inclusion of "Three Star Prospects" mean anything or was it just a copy&paste mistake?
5. Michael Brantley, OF
6. Dillon Howard, RHP
7. Ronny Rodriguez, SS
Sure you can, he should have been washing his truck!
Is Kyle Blanks affected by Alonso-Guzman-Rizzo logjam?
" Tim Collins fall short", LOL
" Roy Halladay...he's the bell cow", what is a bell cow?
Not defending Ricciardi, but I wonder if ownership gave AA more flexibility given the previous disappointments - leeway that JP did not enjoy?
And "you" do not want an enlightened audience as it will cease being "your" audience very quickly.
Where did July and August go?
1. Improves relationship between AAA owners/management and Nats' front office.
2. I know AA is the hardest jump to make, but I think AAA will offer him the most consistent look at near MLB pitches.
How dare you talk about The Captain and Jorgie that way, do you know how many rings they got?
WATG, where TG = Purke?
But the scout is not interested in the outcome, but the approach, no?
Cobb? Rose on Fosse? Marachial? Steve Howe?
In your experience, how willing are scouts to admit mistakes, er, update their reports?
25 year old furbush with whip <> sexy, check.
From On The Beat...
Tigers second baseman/outfielder Ryan Raburn: "I give [Tigers manager] Jim Leyland credit for being willing to try something different. It would be easy to just leave Raburn in left field, but the Tigers have a better offense when he is playing second base. It makes their lineup longer, and the guy is a passable defensive second baseman."
While I think MLB only does it with actually signed deals, aren't some overslot deals not announced until the last minute?
Confused, is it "larascopic" or "laprascopic"? or both?
Along the Ranger closer theme - has Billy Wagner officially retired?
Thanks for spreading your knowledge in an unpedantic manner.
I suspect a Lowest of the Low would be easier, eh?
I meant the Tragically Hip reference in the title. They don't seem to have the same following in the states as they do in Canada. I was not questioning your credentials.
Corey & Marc-
I expect hockey folk to know about Das Hip, but how do you guys?
I know the supplemental pick for an unsigned pick lessens some of his leverage, but with a deep draft and a good number of arms available; as a draft eligible sophmore, was Purke going to go early anyway?
Juan Duran, prospect or expensive minor league roster filler?
Would you mind typing up a brief Unfiltered that outlines the old method that scaled the stars and the new method that, well, doesn't. I know you have commented on this in comments, but I don't know if the site's search function probes comments. It might be nice for future generations to understand what happened in 2011.
Thank you for all you do!
I would like this as well, although I'm pretty sure KG "hates" comparables. Also, this would have to updated annually, no? Perhaps something like the PECOTA comparables, but broken down by Conatct, Power, Speed, Arm, and Range/Fielding.
Is Westmoreland still hitting off a tee, hitting soft toss, or hitting live pitching? Thanks for the article and the response.
"butthere" - what it says on the inside rear of my boxers...
Oops, forgot Carter, but I get the feeling he drops to a 4 star.
Well, the Dodgers did not have a 5 star guy and I don't think the A's will, so Segura must be it. For Oakland, would Green, Choice, or Weeks be a 5 star?
While selecting Moskos might not have been the right alternative, perhaps the Pirates knew something about Wieters?
This might be a licensing issue and I'd rather not pay more for a picture, but maybe a link to their milb.com page?
Leake - a Locke to lose to Luebke.
Although I would swear that Bass and Newcastle egress elsewhere.
Can Montero take over for Posada in '11?
Which beers do you leak?
Can you expand on the service time is service time idea with respect to Buster Posey. Posey was called up last year for 7 games but then kept on the farm to start 2010. It was spun as an opportunity to continue learning, but it was likely an attempt to prevent Posey from reaching Super2 status, correct? But his clock started in 2009. Was the deferred start to his 2010 MLB season simple to reduce service time accrued? Could this also have been achieved by sending him down midyear or shutting him down at the end of July?

Re: Lee - LAD - Is the team in such dire financial conditions that they can't scrape together $600K [$3M over 5 years due to football scholarship] this year?
"Lind & Hill have drastically underperformed"
Bautista has drastically overperformed, lets not forget about that.
Is Colvin not part of the Cubs future?
Not definitive, but I suppose when a SAD suffer makes public comments like this... http://www.kansascity.com/2010/08/05/2130939/royals-greinke-isnt-happy.html
I think this is the last update you had on Kyle Blanks, " A lot of people have been asking about Kyle Blanks. Sadly, there's just no new news, positive or negative, about Blanks. So far, the only good news is that surgery isn't on the schedule."
Now that he has had surgery, what's up? Thanks!
I had a similar thought. Also, are ambulances at warmups for football games, this incident occured during BP.
What do innings have to do with pitch counts?
gotta imagine it has nothing to with on the field activities ;)
Christina had this, hopefully in consultation with KG, to say, "Sanabia? He's just 21, extremely young, a soft-tossing stringbean and a strike-thrower...but he was never considered a top prospect. "
2-1 is 50%, 1 chance in 2 that X occurs. 100-1 is a longshot because there is only a single chance out of 100 trials that the event will occur. Therefore 500-499 means there are 499 chances out of 500 trials in which this event will occur - pretty close to a sure thing. Ore am I whey off?
