I was expecting to see <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/card.php?id=104779">Jack Flaherty</a></span> on this list. Are you guys down on him?
Scooter please help me out.
12 Team NL only keeper Roto league
I'm keeping Blackmon, Jensen, and Pollack
For my remaining 2 spots I have 4 strong candidates.
<span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/card.php?id=66013">Odubel Herrera</a></span> (leadoff guy, power/speed etc..)
<span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/card.php?id=70387">Javier Baez</a></span> (greatest upside but 2017 value is that of a utility guy)
<span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/card.php?id=68156">Maikel Franco</a></span> (young but upside appears to be capped)
<span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/player_search.php?search_name=Carlos+Gonzalez">Carlos Gonzalez</a></span> (short term value might be traded out of the NL)
Help me out man I've been spazzing out over this all off season.
<span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/card.php?id=52260">David Peralta</a></span>'s tier ranking seems a bit low to me. And my God <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/player_search.php?search_name=Billy+Hamilton">Billy Hamilton</a></span> is an awful hitter. He has no business being in the 3rd tier. He helps in only one category. All of those steals don't produce Runs scored. He's on pace to score another 60 Runs for an entire season. Outside of Roto leagues the guy is totally useless. He's been on waivers for the past month in my points leagues.
In a nut shell who do you like more <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/card.php?id=102668">Ryan McMahon</a></span> or <span class="playerdef"><a href="http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/card.php?id=70946">Amir Garrett</a></span> in a NL only keeper league (roto).
Kazmir's dip in velocity is an every spring occurrence he picks up velocity as the spring and season goes on. Last clocked he was in the 92 MPH range.
Can you tell me where would you slot him in now that his velocity has returned.
Felix Hernandez got called up in his age 19 season in August 2005
Why is it so outlandish of an idea to give Urias the ball at the big league level?
It's been done before in the past (Dwight Gooden) but it's been done way more for position players. If the kid is this dominant and with the Dodgers being in "Win now" mode I don't see why they wouldn't give him a shot after the ASB if they are still having health issues in their rotation.
According to what source? I haven't seen anything that has said this.
I'd like to know I have a NL only keeper league Re-draft tonight
They've been adding these Top 10 rankings at a two to three teams per week clip for the last couple of months. It looks like the Astros are the last team they need to do to complete the list.
I'm shocked that Mark Trumbo wasn't mentioned. He's 1st base eligible and a 30 + HR season seems inevitable if healthy.
What is your take on him Mike?
yeah that Link wasn't found and J.P Green's "The State of the Position" wasn't found either
I guess we can just do a search on the website for it no biggie but the author should take note
That Pancake comment got a smile out of me :-)
Craig, I think the Padres GM reads your work lol.
Anybody with a pulse and 2B/SS eligibility is worth owning in any format
If they pawn Stanton off like they pawned Miggy off the city of Miami should boycott their games. All they do is pawn everybody off for prospects.
And IF, IF those prospects become burgeoning stars when they are 23/24/25 years old they pawn them off for more prospects and they repeat that endless cycle of losing and mediocrity.
But hey if you are an average ball player they'll keep you on the payroll forever. Just look at Nolasko. He's been in their system for an eternity with no progress.
I love breakdowns like this Ben.
Is Joey Gallo related to Jerry Gallo, NYC attorney?
Looks like the Dodgers are about 200 million more dollars from making the playoffs
He's worth the add in NL only leagues. Every team can use ERA and WHIP help. Pretty much anybody with a pulse is NL only worthy
Drafted him in my dynasty redraft. Somebody drafted him in my NL only keeper league. This call up came out of nowhere.
I shiver at the thought of him being mentioned in the same breath as Porcello and Bonderman. That experiment did not work out for those two guys. They were not ready and their future was altered (imo)
Montgomery has dropped considerably from last year. I ended up trading him a month ago in my dynasty league along with Brandon Belt for Ian Kennedy. I haven't lost faith but I like Kennedy alot. I think Montgomery will bounce back some and be a late season callup.
When are they going to give up on Tylers as a catcher? He's 25 going on 26. Isnt it time to try him in the field somewhere. He has a lively bat that needs to be in the field somewhere but where?
Javier Vasquez makes me puke everytime I see him on the mound
Stick a fork in Chris Carter. He's done as an elite prospect if you ask me. Maybe he can have a Jose Bautista like late 20s early 30s explosion but this kid is looking like a quadruple a prospect
Is Billy Hamilton Ryan Freel version 2?
If they can get another arm or two the Bucs might have a Cincinnatti like breakout season on the Horizon circa 2012-13ish
Hey Kevin who would you keep in a 12 team NL Only keeper
Roto league as your 5th and final keeper. Jerry Sands, Brandon Belt
or Mike Minor
I love Ozzie. I agree with him about JD. JD meant more to them
then Jimbo did. If you want to critize him for something fuss at him
about letting JD go
Beltran will never be the same. Just let it go
The General Manager is responsible for signing players
so blaming Dusty Baker for the lack of a Player in front of Joey Votto is wrong.
They better pass the Buck for some more prospects
Get that youngster up to the Big League ASAP
3rd base is kind of pathetic outside of the Top Tiers
Outside of Brandon Wood there is nobody with a legit shot at shooting up the rankings
Figgins, Young, ARAM, and Chipper are all so so 4 star 3rd baseman. I dont expect that those guys will live up to their 4 star rankings
I expect over the next couple of years a steep changeover with multiple 5 star Prospects instantly filling in. The Current 1 Tier, 2 Tier, 3 Tier, and Half of the 4 Tier 3rd baseman are either old and fading or in their prime but produce below average numbers.
I've been doing this "tier" system for the last few years.
It's the right way to go.
