Call the column, if u ain't cheatin, u ain't trying... Ball off bat mph, plus distance allows u to calc. the weight of the ball, no?
I meant to add the effect coors has on fastballs, which is straight with no movement, aka a bulls-eye pitch for the hitter. The away team hitting splits at coors compared to the home team make no sense to me unless its b/c of cargo & tulo or some other trickery.
So, can we explain the extreme home / road team hitting splits at coors from the 2010 season? There was a collusion complaint filed from the giants and the stats back that up. In 75 games at Coors Field, the Rockies hit .304 with 102 homers and 790 hits. Opponents have hit .258 with 67 homers and 698 hits. The Rockies have outscored visitors 452-345. (Counter argument, they had babe ruth (cargo) & tulo.)
If I'm Colorado, no reason not to use some casino type scheme to over see the setting up the humidor balls for the vistors and non-humidor balls for the home team. If u ain't cheating, u ain't trying. So, can u use ur physics background to come to an educated answer to this collusion complaint? If the data is available, it might make for an interesting article.
Didn't Granderson just change his swing? Saw him on a sports center replay from last nite & he had a low load & his swing was short & simple. When was the quote from?
Good to know, thanks KG.
Ervin Santana: You said, "this sounds like a classic cascade to me." So, what's next, if your were a betting man, elbow surgery? Or shoulder problems? Basically, at this point were are just waiting for that disaster piece of news, correct?
