Really like this column being published earlier in the day; thank you!
I've called 3 barnes and nobles brick and marter stores and no one has them and no idea when they are getting them! I don't want to wait for amazon to ship mine any longer! Any idea when BN stores will get a shipment in?
I was at the game Friday night in Lakewood (2nd game of the season), and Roman Quinn was clocked at 3.51 from the left side. I had to re-check with the scout to confirm that, but yes, 3.51. He can flat out fly.
The annual release date of BP is one of my favorite days of the year, and I felt extra excited when a couple brick and mortar book stores told me it was available on Saturday. So I rushed over to pick it up, and to echo what everyone else earlier has said, that the team essays leave a lot to be desired. I've been reading the annual for 6+ years, but if you hadn't mentioned it was 9% larger than previous years, I would've thought it was 10% less content. There was nothing the team essay added to my knowledge for the 8 or so teams I've looked at thus far. Thanks to everyone for all your hard work and dedication to making baseball so enjoyable for us all!
I love the Mets, but I don't think there is any chance this team wins 80 games.
Just called my local Barnes and Noble, and they have 6 in stock. Had pre-ordered on Amazon, but will be picking it up tomorrow to have it sooner than Amazon will deliver it:) One of my favorite days of the year, thanks BP!
Access is forbidden...and when you go to the fantasy page, it gives you the 2011 pecota. I almost had a heart attack when I saw K Escobar expected to win 10 games for the Mets again!
Exactly, not a mis-diagnosis, but more lack of public information (not that there is anything wrong with that)...and there isn't much need for a CT scan at this point; the most likely fracture with an inversion sprain is the fibula, and 5+ weeks of being in a boot/rest should provide ample healing if it was a fracture vs a bone bruise.
I'd put his return date at July 15th..
Just looked at the Mets team quickly, and Kelvim Escobar with a 3 WARP, which is 2nd highest on Mets pitching staff? I know the Mets pitching staff is bad, but didn't think a guy who is going to pitch in the majors would be 2nd best!
I'd be more likely to attend at Menlo vs Princeton. Hopeful this will happen!
As a physical therapist, your articles were always great and something I looked forward to whenever it was posted. Although I know the injuries, your "sources" were something that obviously filled in the gaps from what others reported.
Best of luck in the future, and keep up the great work of educating the public.
I agree, text is a lot more office friendly. But nice work!
In regards to Reyes, he's still having pain when swinging from the left-side of the plate, so has been batting righty just because "he wants to be in the line-up." (He's 0-5 in his at-bats hitting right-handed vs RHP). He also states he can't slide head-first because it still hurts.
How is this justifiable that he is playing?!?
Reese Havens, not Brad. Hopefully he will finally stay healthy! There was talk when the Mets drafted the SS out of South Carolina they would move him to catcher, but that obviously hasn't happened.
In regards to Wilmer Flores, what are your thoughts on this "strategy" that Flores seems to be employing, and thus the reason for only 2 k's in 50 innings.
This was from Toby Hyde on April 14th (http://www.metsminorleagueblog.com/2010/04/14/a-ball-st-lucie-up-savannah-down/).
SS Wilmer Flores told me the other night that he’s trying to be aggressive in every at bat. He’s executing that strategy as he was 3-5 with three singles, swinging early and often. I don’t have my count in front of me as I write this, but I’m not sure he saw 15 total pitches tonight. He hasn’t walked or struck out in 26 AB as he’s letting his natural hand-eye ability take over.
My take: Does this happen in any other organization or just to the Mets?
I just picked up the book in Brick NJ in Barnes and Noble. The web site for bn still says out of stock for the store, but go to customer service desk and they will go to the back of the store and get it for you. THey haven't put it on the shelves yet...
And be prepared to return it once your amazon/bn.com order arrives, bc it's $24.02 in the store (and thats with the members discount)!! unreal how the web is 35% plus off of the store price.
Flying down to Spring training tomorrow and couldn't think of not having the Prospectus to read on the plane.
on Amazon's web page
"Severe Weather Alert: Due to winter storms on the East Coast of the United States, many packages will be delayed."
That is the exact reason why I/we need the book!! To get our minds off of this terrible weather.
I would enjoy a Princeton Pizza Feed, didn't realize I missed out in the past (when did you have it there in the past)?
You mean the middle 1/3 of the patella is used for ACL reconstruction, not Tommy John Surgery, right?
welcome back. thanks for all your work, and feel better
