Not too hard to figure out from the DOB provided
If you are not redirected to MLB.com, or if the link works correctly, or if you server is not overloaded, or if my server at work is not overloaded, or if I have a fast connection, or if I am not redirected MLB.com again while I am writing this. I had assumed that header information about players would be auto-inserted/formatted into your forms from the databases you maintain, but maybe that cannot be done. Just as an FYI, while writng this response I was redirected more than 5 times to mlb.com.
For batters, Bats: ?? and Age: ?? would be helpful for me. Similar for pitchers, but Throws: and Age: instead. This series looks like it is going to be great!
This is good stuff. But, with my poor memory I never remember what league/level the affiliate is in. If you could add that to the team name, then you are getting closer to perfection.
I would like to second Behemoth’s suggestion on the near misses, even if they appear as an article, or series of articles once the top ten lists are completed. When I heard that Kevin was leaving BP for the big leagues I was concerned the prospect content at BP might take a hit. I am glad to see it hasn’t.
Agree with Dale that Trammell has been treated poorly in the voting, but a greater travesty has to be that Lou Whittaker (Alan's keystone partner) couldn't even muster three percent of the vote in his first year on the ballot (2001).
I am not following the point accumulation method here. The points are not additive for each year in the decade, or Clemens who won two Cy Youngs ('86, '87) would have two points (or more). Are the total votes a pitcher received in the decade divided by the sum of the winners totals for each year the pitcher pitched in the decade?
Well said Jason. Speaking of limitations, I don't think I could spell your last name even while looking at it. Looking forward to visiting Beaneball. Props to BP for the ProGUESTus series as well.
Shenanigans? If you have a short list of them, or a link, I'd appreciate it.
Larry, Are you maintaining a season long file of trot times? If so, is it available for public viewing?
True enough, but that is not really the point. If it is the home team's responsibility, they should fulfill that responsibility with accuracy and integrity, or what is the point of making them accountable for it. And I guess the second point is that Emma is ok with shirking responsibility if it can help you win a game. But, then again, baseball has a long history of bending/ignoring rules, this would just be more of the same, and as such isn't anything to get particularly worked up about.
"I've cheated, or someone on my team has cheated, in almost every single game I've been in." - Rogers Hornsby
I am unsure if it is the responsibility of the home team to provide the umpires and the opposing team with weather data. If it is, and if the Cardinals withheld data (lie of omission), or manipulated the data (overt lie), I think that is a problem. If they simply did a better job of interpreting the data, then good for them.
"I have no reason to think that La Russa or the Cardinals concealed anything from either Baker or the Cardinals, but even if they did, more power to them. It’s a long season and you have to take your advantages where you can find them."
I am a bit disappointed that you think it is commendable to be deceitful in dispensing information that is to be provided to the umpires and the opposing team (again, assuming it is their responsibility).
Yes, I would take a dollar on those odds.
Minor's perfect world is a #3, Vizcaino's is an All-Star. Is Minor's floor so high that he gets a 5 star, while Vizcaino gets 4 stars?
Well done, more like this, especially in the run-up to the CBA.
I don't mind that bbNUT09 mentioned Tony, I was unaware of how well Tony had been doing, now I'm not.
Juan effin Pierre, man you gotta love this game!
Milledge to AAA after a tough start to the year. Was picked by many to have a breakout year, still hope though, as there is a long way to go.
Where\'s the love for Sweet Lou?
