Good item, thanks.
I'm a bit surprised that Matt Dominguez did not at least rate a mention. His solid power output, and slow improvement as a hitter over the season, seems to bode well for modest gains next season as a 25 year old. Do you not see him as a potentially cheap but useful MI option in some leagues?
My understanding is that Choo got the most out of his power from Great America Ballpark. Any guess on how a possible move elsewhere would affect his counting stats and even batting average?
So what is the deal with Oscar Hernandez, the Tampa Bay catcher in the VSL? His power numbers seem unworldly for that age and level. Can you shed any light on his long-term prospect merits?
Kevin, despite the uptick in velocity this season, Henderson Alvarez is maintaining a relatively low strikeout rate. Does this portend a pitch-to-contact approach that may not be as effective in the majors, or something else?
Free Scott Mathieson!
Seriously, the Phillies bullpen is a mess, and one potentially very helpful cog is blowing away AAA hitters. What gives?
Your take on Starlin Castro of the Cubs? He seems well advanced for his tender age in the tough Florida State League, and his MVP performance in the All-Star game was prety special. Is he an Andrus-type talent?
Your recent write-up of Jose Pena certainly sparked my interest. Would you say talent wise he is in the top tier of players available this year (along with Sano, Mateo, and DePaula)?
What are your thoughts on fast-rising players for the upcoming draft? By at least one account, Jared Mitchell and Josh Phegley may be top-10 picks. Do you concur?
