Good stuff, so happy for Craij!
With 35 keepers per team, I'm surprised at some of the major leaguers that were in the draft. Ryu, CC, Straily, Perdomo, etc. Were they cuts off the 40 man or dropped during the year last year because of ineffectiveness or injury? Also, why did some teams skip picks during the transactions?
I'm happy for you at BP, all the hard work has paid off. I hope for all of us that the quality of what has been produced on this site continues. Congrats.
I agree, I can't stop watching it.
I'm interested in the statement that Polanco looks like a "perennial All-Star." In order to reach that level does that assume the power develops into 25/30 HR range or are the other tools strong enough to carry him if he sits in the 15 to 20 HR range?
Well let me chime in on this then and tell you that I completely concur and while I really appreciated Kevin's work you guys have really upped the bar this year. Honestly, the major reason I subscribe to BP is for the prospect work that you do. Keep up the good work.
Wow, one of the best features on BP.
Love the piece, thanks. Regarding Polanco, what did you think of his swing? I had read previous scouting reports that suggest it is a bit too long and will need to be shortened up to be succesful at higher levels. Maybe that's what you meant by "working to quiet his load."
What are the odds that the Reds sign Choo to an extension? I think we are all assuming Hamilton is going to come to the majors as a center fielder and is likely to come up some time in 2014 if not later this year. The Reds signing of Ludwick to a two year extension plus a rather large buyout for a third year option seems to suggest that Choo is just a one year fix for the Reds.
Great, looking forward to it!
Great work again. Thanks for writing up all of the weekend games, must be a lot of work but really appreciated.
Great article Doug, any way to get the complete list?
Fantastic work, I am really enjoying the analytical look at pitching mechanics that you have been doing on the site. One of my favorite things about BP right now.
Great work, The Ten Pack is just about the only good thing about Monday morning!. Sorry to jump to a player you didn't cover today but have you heard any update about Chad Bettis recently?
Hits home for me. Thanks!
Nice to see the Jonathon Singleton write up. I've been following him and have been impressed so far. What's his upside?
What gives with the Dodgers and their unwillingness to move Russell and Sands up? I know there are concerns about both of them but having them play in leagues in which they are two years older than the competition doesn't really help answer the questions. Are the Dodgers just resigned to the fact that they may just be organizational guys?
Unfortunately, I believe he is.
