Here's an article on baseball players and sleep:
Want MLB Players To Suck Less And Stay In The League Longer? Give Them Naps
FWIW, it seems that there is a tendency for the catchers with the worse frames to be less-centered directly behind the plate. By that, I mean where the catcher is physically positioned behind the plate, not necessarily his mitt. I think this applies to the 4 worst frames of the week (I agree with you on David Ross at #5), whereas you don't see it at all with any of the Molina, Lucroy, 5 best frames, or Ross.
Then, when a pitch intended for the inside/outside corner goes toward the center of the zone, the catcher needs to reach, or stab for it, as you've mentioned.
Perhaps the poorer framers feel the need to center their bodies at where they're setting up for the next pitch, whereas the Molinas, Lucroys, etc., do not.
If/when MLB goes through another round of expansion, how would that affect replacement level?
I'd assume that the new RL would be lower than the old one, but the setting on the "replacement level-o-stat" would need to be turned down, so that your new replacement-level player would still be ~0.0 WAR / WARP / WOW. You would then no longer be comparing apples to apples.
How about some swing diagnostic metrics?
Contact% (ball in play + foul / swings)
