Great article but small edit.
The 21-year old has mashed his [way] through the minors and he is going to get thoroughly acquainted with the Green Monster this season pounding double [after] double off of it.
I read, on BP I believe, that the Red Sox don't do as well against pitchers who pound the strike zone since they can't work the counts. Lynn is also one of the top strike throwers in baseball so that might bode well for the Cards. Of course, I've never seen a pitcher shut everyone down for a few innings and then give up 5 runs in an inning as much as Lynn so this will be an interesting game.
That is a very interesting idea and not one I would have thought of myself. I do remember looking at who was up with the bases loaded and thinking Peavy wasn't in as much trouble as the situation would otherwise suggest.
I think that jbriaz most likely understood the intent of this article, just didn't agree with the execution. It took a lot of hedging for the author just to get to the idea that it was probably obstruction. If you don't start with a conclusion in mind and you read the rule, it's hard to see this as anything but obstruction.
I'm a big Cards fan but it's hard to argue with PECOTA here. It should be a very good game.
Small edit to make: ...."holier-than-thou Cardinals to force a Game Five" should be "Game Six".
I hear that Hoffman is more likely to sign with the Dodgers than the Brewers and may sign by the weekend.
