I'm in Chicago, so I thought I might be spare any weather-related issues. Amazon changed the shipping speed to one-day for me yesterday, but the status of my order hasn't even changed to "Shipping Soon." I e-mailed them again and they said that the book will be in stock on February 13th and I should get it by the 14th. That doesn't tell me why the book didn't ship when it was in stock on Wednesday. Oh well.
I'm certainly going to live through the weekend without the book, but I just wanted to note that there may be issues with it shipping from Amazon. It seems that some other readers who have posted here are having similar issues.
I'm not sure that someone who works for BP saying "my order shipped" helps. At the very least there seems to be a disconnect here. Why are BP staff and people they know having no problem getting the book and not your typical readers?
This may sound silly, but when the iPad comes out, it would be kind of annoying if there were shipping problems associated with it and Steve Jobs said, "Well, I got one."
I don't know if someone at BP could/should contact someone at Amazon yet, but I think the situation bears monitoring. I ordered my book from Amazon on Wednesday morning when I noticed it was in stock. I have “free” two-day shipping. To make a long story short, nothing has happened since then. The order is still in "Not Yet Shipped" status and my card has not been charged. Estimated arrival dated has shifted from February 18th to the 16th. I contacted Amazon about this to remind them that with two-day shipping I should have the book by now. They tried to tell me that the book was not actually listed as in stock when I ordered it, which was not true. Finally, they gave me a $10 credit, which is nice, but still means I'm getting the book some time next week.
Thanks for today's column. Sorry, but I've got a fantasy-related question. Any word on Grady? Is surgery more likely than not? He's taking up a lot of salary on my bench. Thanks.
Hey, Will. Fantasy-related question for me: Any idea if the Tigers will shut down Carlos Guilen for good?
