John Stanton’s First Avenue Entertainment group purchased a 90-percent stake in the Mariners for $1.26 billion in April, 2016, with the club valued at $1.4 billion for purposes of the transaction. Nintendo chairman Hiroshi Yamauchi had purchased the Mariners for $125M in 1992. Forbes magazine valued the club at $1.2 billion in March, 2016.
