The tater trots from April 28: Stanton's big weekend.

It's going to be a quick one today, so let's get right to the trots!

The tater trots for April 26. Big Papi hits another slow one, Carlos Beltran headlines a night of multi-home run games.

Pretty nice night for baseball last night. Not only did two players notch their first career home runs Friday night, four other players rounded the bases twice. And all of this while Anibal Sanchez was busy striking out 17 Braves batters!

The tater trots from April 25: a great Luis Valbuena quote, a bomb from Goldschmidt, Big Papi goes back to his old ways and Francisco Cervelli keeps his torrid pace up.

Nothing pleases me more than checking the box scores and seeing that David Ortiz has hit a home run. It's a glorious thing to have him back in our life, hitting dingers and trotting the bases.

The tater trots for April 24. Jordany Valdespin goes out in grand fashion.

I have to admit, it still feels a little strange every time I realize that the Astros are in the American League team now. I see them playing against the Mariners and I think to myself, "They're playing interleague again?" And then it hits me.

The tater trots for April 23: the Upton brothers have a night, Chris Heisey keeps sprinting.

I'm really enjoying this new experiment by Major League Baseball to start the season in January and hope that nobody notices. I don't know if the Rockies' employees who have had to shuffle snow off the field twice in the last week are enjoying it as much, but it's still interesting in a performance art kind of way.

The tater trots for April 22: big time celebrations from Robinson Cano and Luis Valbuena, remarkable consistency from Ryan Roberts.

Let's get right to the trots!

The tater trots for April 20, capped off by Daniel Nava's emotional home run at Fenway Park.

It was an emotional day in Boston that was capped in a near-storybook fashion. Let's get right to the trots.

The tater trots for April 18: Todd Frazier does good, Yovani Gallardo goes yard, Francisco Cervelli speeds home.

Home Run of the Day: Todd Frazier, Cincinnati Reds - 22.18 seconds [video]
A home run in the later innings of an 11-1 rout are rarely worth talking about as the Home Run of the Day. In Cincinnati on Thursday, however, Todd Frazier's blast is very much worth celebrating. As C. Trent Rosecrans wrote for cincinnati.com, this home run was hit by special request for Reds batboy Teddy Kremer.

The tater trots for April 17: Jason Giambi's first Cleveland home run, Everth Cabrera says "me-ow!"

Three games were postponed due to rain on Wednesday. Seems fitting to have an abbreviated post today in their honor.

The tater trots for April 16: David Wright's shots in majestic Coors Field, two speedy trots from Heyward and Gomez.

Jackie Robinson Day continued throughout the league on Tuesday, with many ballparks playing "Sweet Caroline" or other Boston staples in support of the city (the Brewers played the theme song from "Cheers", for example). It was a nice gesture from the league and the individual clubs.

The tater trots for April 15: Eric Stults has a very memorable first career home run, Peter Bourjos gives us the quickest trot of the year.

The day started so well yesterday. Jackie Robinson Day around the league. Patriots Day in Boston. A walk-off win for the Red Sox. And then the tragedy.

The tater trots for April 14: Todd Helton's slows down in San Diego; Austin Jackson and Hunter Pence have a footrace.

A prediction for today's games: a home run will be hit by number 42.
