The BP Fantasy Team answers a bevy of questions, including whether now is the time to take deals for Giancarlo Stanton.

Question: I was just offered Stanton, Quintana for Seager, Ozuna. How long for Stanton?

Answer: The length of time Stanton is out should not matter in this deal. The upside in it is worth the risk in waiting out Stanton’s return.

The fantasy crew urges owners who drafted Ryan Madson to hold on to the Angels' righty until he returns, among other advice this week.

Question: How long do I wait for Alejandro De Aza? I don’t see anything that will improve (BABIP, K%). Okay to drop him for Matt Joyce? Love Coors and the matchup coming up.

Answer: What round did you draft him in? Subtract that from 23 and that's how long you have to keep him. That is also known as the Cory Schwartz rule.

This week's mailbag includes a question about trading for Stephen Strasburg, among many other topics.

Writing to you all the way from Ghana, and although I have to watch games on tape delay and have ABSOLUTELY no one to talk ball, with there are some perks. For instance, I just picked up Jose Valverde on waivers right after Leyland said that he would be the closer as the rest of my fantasy league mates drifted of to a West Coast sleep. Always give me half a day where I know the rest of my league will be sound asleep, and I can pick apart the waiver wire in peace.

I am evaluating a trade right now and I need some advice. I have been injury-plagued this year, and my bulls--t commissioner only put 2 DL spots and two BN spots. I am in a 10-team mixed league, head-to-head, and I have Jason Heyward, Jose Reyes, Michael Bourn, Curtis Granderson, and Johnny Cueto on the DL. Sucks.
Bourn will be back soon, and will be added to my lineup of Yadier Molina, Ian Kinsler, Alcides Escobar, Allen Craig, Miguel Cabrera, Heyward, Josh Hamilton, B.J. Upton, Carlos Beltran, Norichika Aoki. I have a lot of underperformers, to say the least, which is why I am balking at what I think is a slam-dunk. This was just proposed to me:

The fantasy team tackles various questions, including a couple that involve struggling Blue Jays R.A. Dickey and Edwin Encarnacion.

Question: Standard Y!, 12-team, H2H 5x5 league. Should I drop Jedd Gyorko for Evan Gattis? I have Pedro Alvarez at 3B, Everth Cabrera at 2B, Sal Perez is C. Is the power coming for Gyorko or is he overmatched?  Been starting him over Alvarez but not considering dropping Alvarez.  I like Perez but Gattis is showing great pop and I believe it's for real.

Answer: We definitely think you can make that move, but you shouldn't bench Perez. Depending on your league rules, Gattis may also be eligible in the outfield, as that is where a majority of his minor-league playing time was in 2012. —Jason Collette and Paul Sporer

The fantasy crew tackles a variety of questions, including one from an owner with a chance to secure two of the highest-ranked players in the game.

Every Friday, we are going to publish questions from our unofficial mailbag. We find that some of you email multiple members of the staff with the same question, while others hit us up at fantasyhour@baseballprospectus.com. In my league, we use the normal $260 budget during the auction, but once the season begins we can buy anyone with FAAB money regardless of the price at which we get them. For example, i need to replace a guy who isn’t cutting it, his salary at the auction is $1, and I didn’t leave any money on the table at the auction. However, say I get a guy for $10 with FAAB bid; he can replace the $1 guy.

Greetings, I have Rafael Betancourt in a new dynasty. Should I try to get Huston Street to replace him? Thinking of offering Chris Nelson along with Betancourt. Or is it not set in stone that Betancourt will leave?
