DateQuestionAnswer
2017-05-03 20:00:00 (link to chat)Do you see Tony Zych getting the 8th inning role in Seattle?
(Florida man from Florida)
I like him a lot, or I did before he got hurt. He's recovered now, but before Edwin Diaz, it was Zych who seemed like the closer in waiting. So he certainly could recover that. There's been talk the M's might break out Diaz into an Andrew Miller role, which could open up Zych (or Nick Vincent?) for saves. (David Brown)
2017-05-18 13:00:00 (link to chat)if your brian cashman what is your next move? trade OF prospect for Yu Darvish? trade Gardner to open up OF spot for Frazier or Fowler? etc.
(a.j. from las vegas)
I don't think they need to do anything, honestly. There isn't anything crazy unsustainable here (well, maybe Aaron Hicks, although I always believed in Aaron Hicks). Think you can shore up around the edges come July without going whole hog buy. Depending on Chapman's shoulder you may need to poke around for an Addison Reed or Nick Vincent or Ryan Madson, but those guys are always available. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2014-01-14 13:00:00 (link to chat)On the NL side, who are some of the closers that are a year a way?
(Willy from Under the Christmas tree)
Rex Brothers, unfortunately since they're going with Hawkins. Mark Melancon, Tyler Clippard, too.. but most of the closer volatility is in the AL. Nick Vincent is a super-sleeper in SD if he can figure out lefties again like he did in 2012. (Paul Sporer)
