2009-11-17 14:00:00Is there any chance Angel Villalona plays baseball again in the U.S.? Even if the charges are 'dropped', would any team touch that PR nightmare? Was he showing any progress this year according to scouts?
(BrowningNagle from Louisville, KY)
He has some very good scouting reports out of the Cal League, but yes, his future is very much up in the air. (Kevin Goldstein)
2009-09-21 14:00:00I know you aren't Kevin, but Wow! How about that Angel Villalona news?
(jtrichey from Indianapolis)
That was a real shocker. I don't think his prospect status can withstand 20 years in the joint. (Jay Jaffe)
2009-09-17 14:00:00Divisive prospect lightning round! Angel Villalona, stock up or down?
(Rob from Alaska)
Down. (Kevin Goldstein)
2008-07-22 13:00:00Hi Kevin, What are your thoughts on Angel Villalona? He has had an unspectacular year at Low A but is still showing great power for his age level. Do you see him becoming a middle of the lineup hitter along the lines of Andre Gallarga?
(LA Goofy from Disneyworld)
I talk to a scout about Villalona in tommorow's edition of Future Shock. (Kevin Goldstein)
2008-05-21 13:00:00Angel Villalona has turned it on a bit lately, hitting 4 homers in the last week or so with a 4-hit and 3-hit game mixed in. If he were in high school like most kids his age, would he be a mega-hyped clear #1 overall pick for the upcoming draft?
(mkvallely from Florissant)
He'd be top 10, but No. 1? I doubt it -- it's just so hard for a guy who's locked into first base to be seen as a No. 1 pick. (Kevin Goldstein)
2008-04-01 14:00:00I've read some discussions on various blogs that Angel Villalona might eventually become the best prospect in baseball. Would you agree? I think he has that kind of potential.
(Larry from Georgia)
Might eventually? Couldn't I saw that about 40-50 guys, maybe more? (Kevin Goldstein)
