2013 Drew Sutton’s bat makes him a nice bit of organizational infield depth, but he has yet to find an organization willing to give him a long-term look in the majors.
2012 Remember the Hit Mechanic who worked with Ben Zobrist? He taught Drew Sutton the voodoo, too. Sutton’s offense has not translated to the majors, but he can play multiple positions and his legal name—Stephen Drew Sutton—can inspire a misleading autograph.
2011 Infielder Drew Sutton is a nice little utilityman who can play every position, but he can't hit. He'll try to hook on with Boston this spring.
2010 Aquired straight-up for Jeff Keppinger at the beginning of the 2009 season, Sutton looks a lot like Rosales, an older minor-league player who started out up the middle (second base in Sutton’s case due to a weak arm) and has since diversified to all four infield positions and the outfield corners. A college product (Baylor), Sutton has always been old for his leagues, so his .280/.378/.442 career line in the minors has to be taken with a grain of salt. He also stopped stealing bases last year after swiping 64 the previous three seasons. He has a better eye than Rosales, but is ultimately a less athletic version of the same player.
2009 Sutton gave a nice enough performance, but once again coming from a player way too old to still be at AA. Sutton is willing and able to play anywhere on the field, but his range and arm are both weak; for any lengthy usage he's limited to second base. Houston's roster moves do seem to imply a competition between him and Chris Johnson for a major league spot; he has a good chance of winning that.
2007 Drew Sutton put up some nice numbers at High-A Salem, showing power, speed, an ability to take walks, and some pretty good defensive skills. At the same time, he belonged in Double-A. We`re still waiting for him to get tested.

(Riley the cat, Jasper's brother from kinda dozing....)
I'll say no. We have him at 74 PA in PECOTA, that seems like a good guess to me. (Matt Swartz)
