BP Chats

DateQuestionAnswer
2014-05-29 19:30:00 (link to chat)If you could have kept one of these three, who would it have been? Noah Lowry, Cla Meredith or Ambiorix Burgos?
(hamsterjockey from DC)
Rhadhames Liz, prob (Ben Carsley)
2009-02-10 14:00:00 (link to chat)How does Noah Lowry fit into the Giants rotation and is he recovered from surgery?
(lnodolf from fillmore,ca)
Lowry's supposed to be good to go coming into camp, but his peripherals were already going south on him before the injury. The decision to sign Randy Johnson crowds him out, because there's still a whole lot of Zito to live with, and Jonathan Sanchez has more upside than Lowry ever did. (Christina Kahrl)
2008-10-17 13:00:00 (link to chat)Noah Lowry supposedly had successful surgery to clean up his elbow. After missing all of 2008 with injuries, would you take the over on him making 8 starts next year for the Giants? What exactly is a bone spur anyways?
(Chris from Harrisonburg, VA)
A spur is kind of like a blister, except bone instead of skin. If it breaks off, it's a bone chip. If it causes swelling or irritation, it affects things, so you remove them. It's really simple and tends to be clean. Yeah, I'd take the over. (Will Carroll)
2008-02-28 14:00:00 (link to chat)Correia got torched by the Cubs today - should he really be ahead of Jonathan Sanchez for the 5th starter job? Is keeping two LHP pitching back to back days really worth that much consideration when choosing your 5 best starters?
(theguag from Louisville)
I think Correia has value, but I'm probably with the scouts who value Sanchez for his really exceptional arm. I guess I kind of expect something like a Noah Lowry injury to make the question academic, but I'd rather see Sanchez put back into a starting role and left alone until he proves he can't. The chance that he becomes the quality young lefty to join Zito and balance out a rotation already gifted with Cain and Lincecum is just really very tasty. (Christina Kahrl)
