DateQuestionAnswer
2016-06-23 14:00:00 (link to chat)First, Thanks for all the time you put in with us. Who has the brightest future Wil Myers or 3B Jake Lamb. Also can you say why? Or should I say If you had a team which one would you bank on in the long run. OB1
(ob1 from Tampa)
Thank you for participating!
I'll take Lamb only because of Myers' injury history and the fact that I like third basemen more than I do first basemen. It's pretty close, though, and there's a good potential that this answer looks dumb in a few years. (Nicolas Stellini)
2016-04-25 23:00:00 (link to chat)Why oh why do the DBacks have no faith in Jake Lamb against lefties? Shouldn't Brandon Drury beat it so Lamb can play everyday?
(Jack Shepherd from ?)
Nah, Drury's a solid player who can be grow into a versatile asset. I like what they're doing there in the real world, fantasy frustrations be damned. (Wilson Karaman)
2016-03-04 13:00:00 (link to chat)Wilson, would you keep any of these guys in an 8-team, NL-only, 5x5 league: $2 Ryan Howard, $2 Javier Baez, $1 Jake Lamb? Thanks.
(GBSimons from Indiana)
I'd probably keep all of them. Baez is a no-brainer, and somehow, some way Howard was a $13 player last year in NL-onlies. Okay roster depth, even in a shallower league. I've always liked Lamb, just needs regular reps & I'd take the flier he gets 'em for a buck. (Wilson Karaman)
2016-02-03 20:00:00 (link to chat)Jake Lamb? Yay or Nay? I see him hitting 2nd in ARI despite what Stewart ways.
(tnyfn20 from RVA)
I have no idea where he'll hit or how many ABs to expect, but I do like Lamb. Solid improvement in his approach last season. (Greg Wellemeyer)
2015-09-24 13:00:00 (link to chat)Will Brandon Drury push Jake Lamb off 3B in Arizona? Or are the other D-Back options at 2B so weak that he will settle in as the regular there next year, even if his defensive chops aren't the best?
(Paul from DC)
I think the best-case scenario is Lamb at third, Drury at second, but the Diamondbacks have to decide who they want at shortstop before they can decide who they want at second base. Are they willing to live with Nick Ahmed's glove to get his bat in the lineup? If so, do they prefer Owings' glove to Drury's bat? I don't know the answers, but at least they're interesting questions—and I think that's quickly becoming an interesting team. (R.J. Anderson)
2015-04-16 17:00:00 (link to chat)I know the BP prospect team is down on Jake Lamb, is his performance unsustainable? ie should I be shopping him?
(EricJ from SF)
I like him better than they do (I guess; I haven't read what you're referencing). He's probably not going to hit 25-30 home runs, but 20 isn't out of the question even if the BA is low. I guess if people are expecting Ryan Zimmerman 2.0 in your league you should shop him, otherwise hang on. Yasmany Tomas isn't replacing him. (Mike Gianella)
2015-01-05 15:00:00 (link to chat)How many MLB at bats for Brandon Drury this year?
(Chris from Baltimore)
Good redeeming question Chris. You’re as cool as the other side of the pillow.

Drury’s PT this year will depend on a number of things, most of them positional. How well will he take to 2B? There have been limited looks at him there because he’s only played there sparingly, but it does create versatility and more opportunities. Secondly, how much 3B does Tomas end up playing? That would create a much bigger obstacle for Drury than Jake Lamb currently is (though Lamb will be blocking him too).

In the end, he only has 29 games in Double-A under his belt, so there’s no guarantee he even reaches the big leagues this year. He just turned 22, has more development to go, and lots of guys blocking him. He may not even see the majors this year, and that’s ok. (Jeff Moore)
2015-01-05 15:00:00 (link to chat)Which of these K machines do you have high hopes for or do you see them all flaming out? Domingo Santana, Jake Lamb, Randal Grichuk, Steven Moya, Yorman Rodriguez. Will any of these guys have long careers as starters? Which has the highest upside and who will flame out?
(ColeWhittier from Pasadena, CA)
I can't say that I have high hopes for any of them because of the aforementioned strike out issues, but Lamb's are perhaps the most under control and he should be able to pop enough mistakes out of the park for third base. At least with a guy like Santana, he draws some walks to go with the strike outs. Can't say the same about Moya. Not sure that any of them end up being regulars for any extended period of time. (Jeff Moore)
2014-12-18 15:00:00 (link to chat)Could you rank these bats for future careers: Christian Walker, Jake Lamb, CJ Cron, Rymer Liriano.
(ColeWhittier from Pasadena, CA)
Liriano, Cron, Lamb, Walker. I'll add that Liriano has the most beta in him and could absolutely flame out, but the blend of tools provides the highest ceiling as well. He's someone I'm willing to gamble on given his proven ability to respond to failure. That's something I like to see in a prospect. (Craig Goldstein)
2014-08-08 13:00:00 (link to chat)What do the D'Backs have in Jacob Lamb? Difference maker in an NL only league?
(MP from KY)
I'm going to go well below "difference maker." Certainly rosterable though (who isn't, to be fair). (Craig Goldstein)
