2010-01-28 14:00:00Hi CK - Love it! Any prospects that you have unexplained affinities for?
(iorg34 from Minny)
Todd Frazier, because the bat will play. I find myself hoping Zack Cozart gets taken seriously, given that Paul Janish isn't really a solution, and I'm interested in how Tommy Manzella pans out. It's hard not to like Scott Sizemore and Alex Avila for the Tigers. I'm interested in seeing how Jose Ceda's comeback goes. I think this is the year for Brandon Wood, or at least I hope so. I root for Hank Conger. I'm more fond of Ian Desmond and Shairon Martis than probably makes sense. (Christina Kahrl)
2008-11-14 13:00:00Can you please comment on the Kevin Gregg for Jose Ceda trade? As a Cubs fan I hate it.
(cmeindl from Madison, wi)
Wow... It seemed like a bit of a risk, in that the Cubs traded a real lively arm for a guy who is basically a generic middle reliever. Now, keep in mind that 90% of trades come to nothing, especially those for pitching prospects, but this one seems to have a higher percentage chance of being one that the Cubs come to regret. (Steven Goldman)
2008-08-15 15:00:00Is there anybody in the minors that might help the Cubs come September? Their minor league system seems awfully bare.
(Doug from Chicago)
Not a lot, but they're a team that boasts all sorts of depth on the big-league roster. You'll Hoffpauir back to pinch-hit and make a few spot starts at first of left if somebody's got aches and pains, and Jose Ceda might get the call to help out in the pen if he gets hot at Double-A in the last couple of weeks. (Christina Kahrl)
2008-04-23 13:00:00Hey Kevin, do the Cubs have any Carlos Marmol type arms lying in the weeds in AA or AAA?
(Pat from Chicago)
If they did, they certainly wouldn't be lying in the weeds. YOu can't with that kind of stuff. Jose Ceda might have that kind of stuff, but he's in High A right now. (Kevin Goldstein)
