BP Annual Player Comments

YearComment
2010 Considered the best college pitching prospect back in his Rutgers days, Bobby Brownlie seemingly loses a tick of velocity every year, but he throws strikes, changes speeds, and might someday get a chance as a last guy in the pen.
2005 Brownlie's got less upside than many of the other prospects that you'll read about in this chapter. His fastball has topped out in the low-90s ever since the biceps injury that he suffered in his junior year at Rutgers, he has a tendency to keep the ball up, and neither his overhand curve nor his change-up are considered out pitches. That said, he has a good feel for pitching and excellent command, and is pretty close to being major league-ready. Brownlie could be Jon Lieber if things break right.
