BP Annual Player Comments

YearComment
2012 A 6.26 ERA and 4.0 SO/9 in his second attempt at Double-A may spell the end of former first-round pick Jeff Allisonís disappointing career with the Marlins.
2011 As inspiring as Jeff Allison's comeback from substance abuse might be, Double-A beat him like a drum as the season wore on, making his story closer to an after-school special than Josh Hamilton's ticket to the marquee.
2010 Pursuing the Josh Hamilton path to redemption got Jeff Allison through a season of so-so starting work in Jupiter. Lacking the velocity of his high school days, when he was considered the best prep arm in the draft, he now looks like an 11th or 12th guy. That doesn't seem like much, but given that not long ago Allison was more avidly pursuing self-destruction than pitching, it's actually quite a lot.
