2011-01-12 13:00:00 What are the chances Alfredo Aceves is back with the Yankees? Also, what about a spring training invite to El Duque to try for a relief job?
(Larry from Long Island)
If Aceves is healthy, it will make a big difference this year, and there's definitely room for him on the staff. As for Orlando Hernandez, yeesh... He is, at minimum, 45. He was great fun while he lasted, but despite his 15 good innings in the lower minors last year, the Yankees should be looking to the future, not the past. That might be my favorite question of the day. (Steven Goldman)
2010-03-25 14:00:00Hey Joe, Care to share some of "your guys" for this season?
(Fred from Houston)
I've been including some of these in the pieces I've been writing for Rotowire, but off the top of my head...Trevor Cahill, Drew Stubbs, Alfredo Aceves, Rickie Weeks, Dexter Fowler, Chris Outfielder Young. Ruben Gotay if finds his way to the majors. (Joe Sheehan)
2009-07-31 14:00:00Why do you think the Yankees' didn't make a move for Washburn? I'm sure they could've topped the tigers' move without giving up any of the big 4. This is Cashman's worst deadline in a while.
(Eli from Brooklyn)
Jarrod Washburn - Safeco - Mariners' ridiculous outfield defense + Yankee Stadium + Yankees' outfield defense = .7 Alfredo Aceves. (Joe Sheehan)
2009-06-08 14:00:00Hi Joe. True or false? The Yankees would be better off with Alfredo Aceves and Phil Hughes in the rotation (in place of Pettitte and Wang).
(Joe V. from Washington, DC)
I'm as big an Aceves fan as you'll find, and I'm not sure I'd start him over Wang. I was there last Thursday, and Wang wasn't that bad, caught some bad breaks in the third that set everything else up. Pettitte is clearly the team's #6, and signing him to block Hughes, even at the cost, was not a great idea. Aceves or Kennedy could have taken some starts if you really wanted to bring Hughes along slowly. (Joe Sheehan)
