BP Annual Player Comments

YearComment
2014 Due to publishing agreements, the 2014 player comments and team essays are only available in the Baseball Prospectus 2014 book (available in hardcopy, e-book, and Kindle).
2013 Even looking only at his road line, Marshall moved up from Tampa to Trenton in his fifth professional season without taking much of a step back statistically, which is always a win. The 2008 sixth-rounder features a lively low-90s fastball that he can place where he wants, and a good changeup that he disguises well and throws 10 or more miles per hour slower. His slider and curve are less exciting. Everything sinks, so Marshall gets grounders, and while calling him an option for the middle of a major-league rotation might be a stretch, he could be ready to take over a spot toward the end of one in 2014.
2011 The recipient of an over-slot bonus in 2008, righty Brett Marshall made an impressive return from Tommy John surgery, and could shoot up prospect charts with a healthy full year.
