DateQuestionAnswer
2012-08-20 13:00:00 (link to chat)Any particular reason LAD isn't at least TRYING Alex Castellanos at third? Uribe's .530 OPS is a hurdle, to be sure, and the PCL is the PCL, but c'mon - can we at least turn a void into a push?
(Silv from NY, NY)
Not a bad question to ask. He looked pretty bad in a cameo earlier this year, and the Dodgers may prefer Uribe's track record and experience over the risk of playing an untested guy in the middle of a pennant race. Not saying it's right, but I also can't say that Castellanos would hit any better than Uribe over the next six weeks. (Bradley Ankrom)
2012-05-09 13:00:00 (link to chat)do you think either Scott Van Slyke or Alex Castellanos can make an impact for Dodgers? Both are obviously older but both have crushed the ball for 2 or 3 years straight.
(Jesse Pinkman from ABQ)
And yes, I think Castellanos could help, too. He's raking, and Kevin wrote in April that scouts can see him as average at second. The Dodgers aren't in need of help at second quite as desperately as they are at first, but I expect you'll see both of these guys at some point this season. (Ben Lindbergh)
2011-10-17 13:00:00 (link to chat)What is Alex Castellanos big league future? 4th OF?
(Aaron from Long Beach, CA)
He's a guy with very mixed reviews, but those that like him, like him even more than that. (Kevin Goldstein)
