DateQuestionAnswer
2012-02-07 13:00:00What would you estimate for the number of times out of 100 that Joe Benson has a better all around career than Jaff Decker?
(goiter6 from MN)
Big big edge to Benson. (Kevin Goldstein)
2011-12-14 13:00:00Who makes your 2011 most unsexy prospects list?
(Curious from Oregon)
Jaff Decker isn't very sexy. (Jason Parks)
2011-12-14 13:00:00Can we petition MLB to request that Jaff Decker to change his name to Jeff Dacker?
(Steve from Toronto)
I'm behind this movement. (Jason Parks)
2011-06-29 13:30:00Future in LF: Darnell or Jaff Decker?
(Philip from San Diego )
I had not to answer your question but I'm not really a minor-league expert. But it's hard to go against a guy named Jaff. (John Perrotto)
2011-04-18 13:00:00Jaff Decker is off to a rip-roaring .366/.500/.854 start (with 2 SB!). Small sample size from a good prospect, or will his bat carry him to jumping up prospect lists?
(mymrbig from New Orleans)
The bat certainly could carry him. He's a bat-only prospect, but it's a very very real bat. (Kevin Goldstein)
2011-02-17 14:00:00I am very interested in the future of Jaff Decker. Is he projected to see time in the majors this year? What do the Padres see for him the future?
(goiter6 from MN)
We just held our first annual Winter Development Program in San Diego, and Decker was one of the players invited to the camp. As a whole, we are excited with the progression of our minor league players and have seen tremendous growth in players like Jaff Decker as well as players like Lollis, Hagerty (2010 SD minor league player of year), Brach (2010 SD minor league pitcher of year), Castro, etc. One of Jed's goals is to build a productive minor league system, and we like the development we have made so far. (A.J. Hinch)
2010-12-14 13:00:00I have Wilin Rosario and Jaff Decker in a keeper strato league - what do you feel are the odds for each one to get 50 or more at bats next year in the majors?
(goiter6 from MN)
Decker's chances for that many PAs rate pretty low, I'd think, given that he hasn't reached Double-A yet. In contrast, Rosario's chances are fair, even if the Rockies wind up signing some veteran third-man backstop type, and Iannetta and McKenry both disappointing expectations doesn't hurt his chances any. (Christina Kahrl)
2010-08-20 15:30:00Does Jaff Decker have enough glove to play regularly in the majors?
(misterjohnny from Los Angeles)
Yes. He can be a below-average but suitable LF who can really hit. (Kevin Goldstein)
