BP Annual Player Comments

YearComment
2013 Corner outfielder Chih-Hsien Chiang was hitting .340/.402/.648 in Double-A when the Mariners got him in the Erik Bedard deal, but has hit .240/.275/.340 at two levels since and is likely little more than organizational filler in the Rangers' system now.
2012 Chih-Hsien Chiang broke out in his second year at Double-A, giving credit to an improved diet after years of struggling to manage his Type-1 diabetes. As far as ex-post-facto explanations go, this might not be quite on the level of Kevin Mench changing shoe sizes, but it is a bit flimsy, and Chiang came undone like a worn-out flip-flop after going to the Mariners in the Erik Bedard trade.

I think Hak-Ju Lee was that guy if you look at pre-season to mid-season. Looking at mid-season 2011 to mid-season 2012, um, err, um, a flier on Chih-Hsien Chiang with Seattle who proves that 2011 isn't a fluke. (Jason Collette)
