DateQuestionAnswer
2010-03-30 13:00:00 (link to chat)Any thoughts on these hot Dodger pitching prospects? Josh Lindblom, Scott Elbert, Aaron Miller? Will they or somebody else help this year or will they just stick with a Charlie Haeger in the rotation?
(dangor from New York)
It's gonna be really interesting to see what they do with the bottom of their rotation. Hell, it's already pretty strange what they're doing with the top of their rotation. (Do you think they'd start Padilla Game 1 if this was the playoffs? I really hope not.)

Elbert was a lot better than he gets credit for in the bigs last year. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets back up and pitches very well this year, presumably out of the pen, but who knows. (Shawn Hoffman)
2008-08-18 13:00:00 (link to chat)What needs more help: The Twins Bullpen or the White Sox Rotation?
(Brock D from Shakopee, MN)
The White Sox have enough depth to patch rotation issues--free Charlie Haeger! I'm not sure if the Twins can say the same about their bullpen, although persistent rumors that Pat Neshek might come back provide hope. It's interesting in that the Twins, for a few years, had these great no-name pens; now, they have Joe Nathan and dreams of Neshek. (Joe Sheehan)

PITCHf/x Pitcher Profile

A Collaboration between BrooksBaseball.net and Baseball Prospectus - Pitch classifications provided by Pitch Info LLC

Although he has not thrown an MLB pitch in 2014, Charlie Haeger threw 1,164 pitches that were tracked by the PITCHf/x system between 2007 and 2010, all of them occuring in the MLB Regular Season. In 2010, he relied primarily on his Knuckleball (73mph) and Fourseam Fastball (84mph). He also rarely threw a Slider (82mph).
