2014-01-21 18:00:00 (link to chat)what do you think is the most interesting position battle this spring in terms of fantasy impact.
(higgsboson from guelph)
I want to see what happens in the Marlins outfield. Brian Bogusevic really intrigues me as a deep league power/speed sleeper, and Christian Yelich might start in the minors but could also get the call. Marcell Ozuna is kind of underrated in deeper leagues as well. There are a lot of non-Giancarlo Stanton options in this outfield who could provide fantasy impact or not depending on how the battles shake out. (Mike Gianella)
2012-03-23 12:00:00 (link to chat)OK. List your top 5 late round, who the Hell is that guy sleepers. Any position.
(Billy from Wildwood, NJ)
Trevor Plouffe, Tyler Flowers, Brian Bogusevic, Hisashi Iwakuma, Brian Matusz (Jason Collette)
2008-08-20 13:00:00 (link to chat)Brian Bogusevic--the next Ankiel or another washed-out pitching prospect?
(Domenik Hixon from New York)
I'd never put an Ankiel comp on him, that's expecting way too much, but he'll definitely be very high on the Astros prospect list. At the same time, that say a lot about Bogu's talent AND the miserable state of the Astros list. (Kevin Goldstein)
2008-08-13 14:00:00 (link to chat)What do you make of Brian Bogusevic's hot start in AA?
(omambiyick from Athens, GA)
Honestly? I'm pretty excited about it. I know teams who liked him better as a hitter back in his Tulane days, and the funny thing was, about three weeks before the conversion, I was talking to a scout about the Double-A team at Houston and he told a story about getting to the field a little late and a guy was talking batting practice and he couldn't tell who it was at first, but it was the best BP he'd seen for the team for the four days he was in to see them. That guy turned out to be Bogusevic. (Kevin Goldstein)
2008-07-21 15:00:00 (link to chat)Any health-related issues with Adam Loewen becoming a hitter? Even if he becomes Cal Ripken on the durability front he has to face some monumental odds at getting back to the majors after taking six years off from hitting.
(Drungo from SoMd)
No I don't think so. The screw in his elbow shouldn't affect hitting. I'm still trying to figure out if it's staying in or will need to be re-fixated. My question is if Loewen does it, does it make Rick Ankiel's feat a bit less impressive? Someone figure out who else could do this - John Van Benschoten comes to mind, though I'm told he has no interest. Brian Bogusevic? Where's KG when you need him? (Will Carroll)
2008-07-07 13:00:00 (link to chat)The Astros are converting Brian Bogusevic to an outfielder. What kind of hitting prospect was he coming out of Tulane?
(Fred from Houston)
A very good one. An injury (hamstring if I remember right), kept him from playing in the field much his junior year, but he had first-round tools. Plus raw power, plus speed, plus arm. Definitely worth watching. (Kevin Goldstein)
2008-05-05 12:30:00 (link to chat)How about Corpus Christi's rotation so far? Do any of those kids ( James, Norris, Bogusevic, Douglass) have a future in Minute Maid Park?
(Darin from Houston, TX)
Oh, Darin, you know who you're asking this to, right? This is the guy that had Bud Norris as a preseason breakout prospect this winter, and Brian Bogusevic as a breakout prospect the year before that. I'm a believer, dude. I really like Bud Norris, I think he was a great pick and his handling grades out as an A+. Bogusevic is sort of a different beast, and he's just never turned that corner for me. I think Norris is the only one who has a good start at Minute Maid, but I won't turn away the idea of a relief career for Bogu or a long relief career for James. (Bryan Smith)
