2017-08-31 13:00:00 (link to chat)What is your opinion on Fernando Romero's future outlook as a Twin?
(tbdubbs from Upstate NY)
He's got a chance to be awfully good, a mid-rotation arm. Depends on the development of command, consistency, and depth or repertoire. Being short (and I could be imagining this) feels like it's less likely to discourage teams from giving a guy a real shot in the rotation than was the case a decade ago. And the current Twins FO is smart enough to stay open-minded. Dude has promise. (Matthew Trueblood)
2017-03-20 13:00:00 (link to chat)What do you expect from Fernando Romero this year ? Thanks
(Bennie from Ohio)
Biggest key for Romero in 2017 is staying healthy. His role and workload are to be determined, but the raw stuff will play somewhere as long as his arm holds up. Given their lack of high-upside starter prospects, especially after moving Tyler Jay to the bullpen, the Twins will probably give Romero plenty of time to work toward being a starter. (Aaron Gleeman)
2017-01-06 13:00:00 (link to chat)Will Luis Castillo get any run in Miami with the opening of a rotation spot? :( And how good is Fernando Romero...seems like he has all the tools to be an ace pitcher, right?
(fawkesmulder from Zzyzx)
I could see the Marlins trying him as a starter, but I really think he is better-suited to relief.

Romero is a good pitching prospect, but let's see him a little further away from the TJ before we go nuts. (Jeffrey Paternostro)
2016-11-22 20:00:00 (link to chat)What's your opinion of Fernando Romero?
(Sean99 from Chicago)
I haven't seen him, but James Fisher really, really liked him. (Jarrett Seidler)
2016-08-11 14:00:00 (link to chat)Rank the following prospects: Mitch Keller, Fernando Romero, Mike Soroko, Joey Wentz. Thanks!
(Jeb from Johnson City)
I'm a huge fan of Mitch Keller. I'd go Keller, Soroka, Wentz, Romero -- with a gap between Wentz and Romero. (J.P. Breen)
2016-06-27 20:00:00 (link to chat)I think he's been promoted, but can you tell us what you've seen/heard about Fernando Romero?
(Minny fan from Minny)
He has in fact been promoted but I managed to catch one of his starts in Beloit prior to the promotion. Here's my report on him http://www.baseballprospectus.com/prospects/eyewitness_pit.php?reportid=389 but I really like the arm. You're looking at a no doubt 70 fastball with a slider that is at least a 60. The key for him will be throwing enough strikes to stay a starter and if the changeup comes along. Lots to like with the profile. I'm in on him. (James Fisher)
