2014-07-22 15:00:00 (link to chat)Have you gotten to see Mitch Nay and/or Stryker Trahan lately? How are their developments going?
(Howie from NYC)
Nay has had to adjust/readjust a few times already this year. Has had some pitch rec issues, and the defense is suspect. I think he's a tweener/platoon masher at the end of the day. Dude can hit, but I don't think it's an every day profile.

Trahan looked abysmal when I saw him. Long, slow, out of whack. Going to need to make some big overhauls to make it above AA. (Jordan Gorosh)
2014-03-17 13:00:00 (link to chat)Does the move to OF from C basically kill Stryker Trahan as a fantasy prospect?
(MarLo from CA)
Yeah, pretty much. He's still a prospect because he will hit for some power and power is at a premium right now, but a move from the top to the bottom of the defensive spectrum (from C to LF) requires an awfully big bat to pull off. (Jeff Moore)
2013-09-27 13:00:00 (link to chat)Stryker Trahan. Whatcha hearin'?
(Mario66 from Canada)
I've heard some surprisingly good things about his defensive progress. He's still below average behind the plate and he needs lots of reps back there, but he made enough strides this year that more and more scouts were talking about him sticking at the position. Offensively, the tools showed pretty regularly this year and with his defensive progress, we might be looking at one of the game's better catching prospects in a couple of years. (Mark Anderson)
2013-09-11 13:00:00 (link to chat)Thank you for the chat, Jason. Just wanted to get your thoughts on two DBacks players, Stryker Trahan and Matt Davidson. What do you see as their respective floors/ceilings? Will Davidson be ready to take over 3b next year?
(Dennis from LA)
No problem! I'm a believer in Trahan's bat. I think he's got a hit tool with a good eye and some raw power. His catching is the biggest question. I only got a one-game look of him behind the plate this season so can't speak much to how it developed, but I think the bat has a chance to play regardless. Ideally you'd think the DBacks would like Davidson to take over at 3B next year. I'm sure they'll be some competition in spring training but, like with Skaggs in the rotation this year, he's the guy I'm sure they'll want to win it. (Jason Cole)
2013-06-20 13:00:00 (link to chat)Is this thing still on? What are your thoughts on Stryker Trahan?
(Elmo from Hartford)
It's still on. I'm admittedly under-informed on him. I love the name though #nothelpful (Paul Sporer)
2013-06-13 13:00:00 (link to chat)Favorite hitting prospect yet to play full-season ball?
(Aaron from Long Beach)
I'll limit this to guys I just saw in extended spring training in Arizona, since they're on the top of my head. Stryker Trahan with Arizona. One prospect to watch out for Jose Rondon, a young SS prospect with the Angels. (Jason Cole)
2013-04-16 20:00:00 (link to chat)You think Despaigne will come out before Dariel Abreu? Also Who does Stryker Trahan compare to?
(Abnergreen from Puerto Rico)
If I knew the order in which Cuban National Team players were going to defect, I'd start playing the lottery more often. Trahan is a Wil Myers type of catcher, in that he'll keep playing the position until Arizona either moves him off because he can't cut it or because they just want his bat faster. Offensively, he's not Wil Myers, but could hit for solid average and power down the road. (Bret Sayre)
2013-04-04 11:00:00 (link to chat)Did you have an opportunity to see Stryker Trahan? Any early reports on him to share?
(Al4TD from Polk High)
I did see him, but it was a very short look. he can swing the bat. No question. The glove will take time. (Jason Parks)
