BP Podcast: Episode 81: I Don't Want To Drink This Anymore |
Let's keep it short. Let's just do an intimate show. Those were my thoughts heading into Thursday night, and all I really learned is that Jason and I don't know how to stop talking. Our listeners came up big in the email department, we have lots of prospects to talk about, and with the Cubs signing Gerardo Concepcion and the Josh Hamilton story breaking, we had some current events to discuss as well. As always, we hope you enjoy.

BP Podcast: Episode 80: He Hit Both Basins |
It's the return of Jason and a very long show as we have lots of prospect lists to discuss, as well as my unhealthy obsession with baseball media in the digital age. To help us conquer the latter, we enlist Richard Deitsch of Sports Illustrated to discuss the new world of breaking news and then to Tim Dierkes of MLB Trade Rumors about his position as the gatekeeper for breaking stories. It's a fascinating subject, and both guests are up to the task. As always, there's your emails and the goofy stuff, and set aside about three hours, as this is a long one.

The show returns sans Jason, but official substitute host Jorge Arangure comes through with another yeoman performance. We go through your emails and discuss the news of the week, and then our Special Guest is Ike Barinholtz. A previous guest from Episode 20, Ike returns with some baseball news, as the comedian/writer will be a cast member on the upcoming season of Eastbound And Down. Then it's the usually goofy stuff and Jorge coming to terms with Thanksgiving.

BP Podcast: Episode 74: You're Off To A Bad Start |

BP Podcast: Episode 73: Country Mouse, City Mouse |
It's a very special Thanksgiving episode of the podcast. Well, not really, but we do talk about food at the end. With the new CBA announced on Tuesday afternoon, we are joined by Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports to discuss the good, the bad and the ugly of the new agreement, and our other special guest is my mother, with her own That Just Happened. In between we read tons of emails, talk about prospects, awards and Neftali Feliz' new job, and at some point even bring friend of the show Jorge Arangure in to add some holiday cheer. As always, we hope you enjoy.

BP Podcast: Episode 72: Get Back To The Frosty |
It's a combination of fun and serious this week. We begin with lots of prospect talk, as we walk through the Seattle Mariners Top 11 list and finish off our discussion of every team in baseball's minor league system with the final five teams. We couldn't have a show without talking about Yoenis Cespedes, so we discuss the video, what kind of player he really is, and then are joined by Dominican broadcaster Kevin Cabral, who is the voice you hear at the beginning of the show. Kevin talks about his involvement in the video, as well as some changes going on in the winter league there. From there, things get somber, as we discuss the Wilson Ramos kidnapping and are joined by pitcher Scott Drucker, a right-handed pitcher currently in Venezuela, who takes you inside the clubhouse on the night the news broke, and talks about security measure for players there. Then it's onto the goofy stuff with music, drinking and brushes with greatness. As always, we hope you enjoy.
