  • Phillies C Erik Kratz (knee) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment on Monday with Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
  • Cardinals OF Oscar Taveras (ankle) will not participate in the 2013 Futures Game this month at Citi Field.
  • Cubs OF Brian Bogusevic (hamstring) struck out as a pinch-hitter on Sunday afternoon against the Pirates.
  • Braves SP Brandon Beachy (elbow) will throw around 45-50 pitches or three innings Tuesday when he resumes his rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett.
  • Phillies 1B Ryan Howard needs surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his left knee and will be sidelined for 6-8 weeks.
  • Diamondbacks SP Trevor Cahill (hip) tweaked his pitching shoulder while playing catch last week.
  • Pirates 2B Neil Walker (side) is able to hit from the right side but still has pain while batting from the left side.
  • Reds OF Xavier Paul (shoulder) is expected to return to the lineup on Wednesday.
  • Padres 1B Yonder Alonso (hand) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Tucson Monday.
  • Padres C Yasmani Grandal needs reconstructive ACL surgery on his right knee.
  • An X-ray on Reds C Ryan Hanigan's left wrist came back negative.
  • The Mets will skip SP Shaun Marcum's (back, hand) next turn in the rotation.
  • Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork.com reports that Mets SP Jon Niese (shoulder) has been cleared to begin the rehab process at the Mets' spring training complex.
  • Giants SP Ryan Vogelsong (hand) could throw a bullpen session around the All-Star break.
American League:
  • Rays SP Alex Cobb (concussion) is planning to throw another bullpen session on Monday afternoon.
  • Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez (hip) finished 0-for-3 in a rehab game on Sunday with the High-A Tampa Yankees.
  • Mariners 2B Nick Franklin told reporters Sunday that he will continue playing through the soreness in his right knee.
  • Yankees SS Derek Jeter was 1-for-2 with two walks in his second rehab game Sunday at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
  • Astros OF Justin Maxwell (head) has passed all concussion tests and will begin a minor league rehab assignment Monday with Triple-A Oklahoma City.
  • White Sox SP Jake Peavy (rib) could make his a minor league rehab start Sunday.
  • Indians SP Zach McAllister (finger) threw 50 pitches over three innings Monday in a simulated game against Class A hitters.
