  • Braves SS Andrelton Simmons launched a solo home run off Randall Delgado, his sixth of the season.
  • Braves RP Craig Kimbrel worked a scoreless ninth inning, protecting a three-run advantage and earning his 23rd save of the season.
  • Braves SP Julio Teheran was outstanding, racking up 10 strikeouts over six scoreless innings, while allowing just four hits and a walk.
  • Diamondbacks C Miguel Montero had a rough night at the dish, going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts.
  • Diamondbacks SP Randall Delgado pitched well in a losing effort against the Braves on Friday, allowing two runs on eight hits over six innings.
(32-46) Brewers - 3 at 10 - Pirates (49-30)
  • Pirates OF Andrew McCutchen had three hits, including a home run, and three RBI.
  • Pirates SP Gerrit Cole wasn’t terrific, but picked up his fourth consecutive victory, allowing three runs on eight hits over his six innings.
  • Brewers OF Carlos Gomez returned to the starting lineup without missing a beat, going 2-for-5 with a run scored.
  • Brewers SP Johnny Hellweg was absolutely obliterated in his major league debut, surrendering seven runs (five earned) on six hits in just 1 2/3 innings in a loss.

  • Nationals SS Ian Desmond went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored.
  • Nationals RP Drew Storen recorded his second save of the season with a perfect ninth inning.
  • Nationals SP Ross Detwiler yielded three runs (two earned) in five innings in a no-decision.
  • Mets SP Matt Harvey struck out 11 batters over seven innings of one-run ball, but was handed a no-decision.
  • Mets 1B Josh Satin went 3-for-3 with two RBI and a walk.

  • Padres SP Edinson Volquez yielded two runs over six innings.
  • Marlins SP Ricky Nolasco was tagged for six runs (five earned) over five innings Friday in a loss to the Padres.
  • Padres 2B Logan Forsythe went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, a stolen base, and a walk.
  • Marlins OF Giancarlo Stanton went 2-for-4 with an RBI double and a run scored in Friday's loss to the Padres.

  • Phillies OF Delmon Young went 3-for-6 with a double and six RBI.
  • Phillies SP John Lannan pitched seven innings of one-run ball.
  • Dodgers SP Chris Capuano was lit up for seven runs -- five earned -- in 3 2/3 innings.
  • Phillies 3B Michael Young went 4-for-6 and hit his fifth homer Friday against the Dodgers.

American League:

  • Red Sox OF Jonny Gomes delivered a pinch-hit go-ahead RBI single.
  • Red Sox RP Koji Uehara notched a save in a third straight game.
  • Red Sox SP Allen Webster allowed four runs over six innings in a no-decision.
  • Blue Jays SP Josh Johnson was chased for five runs in 3 1/3 innings in a no-decision.
  • Red Sox 3B Jose Iglesias went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored .
  • Blue Jays OF Rajai Davis went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and a run scored.
(41-38) Indians - 19 at 10 - White Sox (32-44) Game 1
  • Indians 2B Jason Kipnis went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, three walks and four runs scored.
  • White Sox RP Hector Santiago was chased for five runs over 2 1/3 innings in a no-decision.
  • Indians OF Ryan Raburn went 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI and two runs scored Friday in the first game of a doubleheader against the White Sox.
  • White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored.
  • Indians SP Trevor Bauer was yanked after giving up five runs and throwing 49 pitches while getting just two outs.

  • Indians 1B Nick Swisher homered off Addison Reed in the top of the ninth.
  • White Sox RP Addison Reed took a blown save and his first loss after giving up four runs in the ninth inning.
  • White Sox OF Alejandro De Aza went 3-for-5 with a double and scored four runs.
  • After homering in Game 1, White Sox 2B Jeff Keppinger went 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBI.

  • Orioles OF Nate McLouth went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and two runs scored.
  • Orioles RP Tommy Hunter notched a six-out save.
  • Orioles SP Kevin Gausman tossed 4 1/3 scoreless innings of relief for his first major league win.
  • Yankees SP CC Sabathia gave up four runs over seven innings.
  • Yankees 2B Robinson Cano went 3-for-5 with an RBI single and a run scored.

  • Tigers 3B Miguel Cabrera continued his onslaught against American League pitching in Friday’s 6-3 win over the Rays, going 4-for-4 with a pair of home runs and a double.
  • Tigers RP Joaquin Benoit worked a scoreless ninth inning, earning his first save since replacing Jose Valverde as the team's closer.
  • Tigers SP Max Scherzer delivered another strong performance, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk over his seven frames, improving to 12-0 on the season.
  • Rays OF Wil Myers blasted his third home run of the season, a solo shot off Max Scherzer.
  • Rays SP Alex Colome pitched decently, allowing four runs on four hits over his six innings of work.
(37-40) Royals - 9 at 3 - Twins (35-41)
  • Royals 1B Eric Hosmer had a monster day at the plate, leaving the yard twice.
  • Royals SP James Shields picked up his third victory of the season, allowing three runs on eight hits over 6 1/3 innings.
  • Twins OF Clete Thomas smacked a solo homer, his second of the season.
  • Twins SP P.J. Walters was knocked around again, surrendering six runs on six hits in his three innings of work.
(37-43) Angels - 4 at 2 - Astros (30-50)
  • Angels SS Erick Aybar went 2-for-3 with a two-run single, a walk, and a run scored.
  • Angels RP Jerome Williams allowed one run in 6 1/3 innings in a no-decision.
  • Astros SP Bud Norris allowed only an unearned run over seven innings in a no-decision.
  • Astros C Jason Castro hit a solo homer and drew a walk Friday in a loss to the Angels.

  • Rangers SP Martin Perez spun 6 2/3 scoreless innings.

  • Athletics SP Bartolo Colon moved to 11-2 by allowing one run in eight innings.

  • Cardinals RP Joe Kelly allowed just one run in 5 1/3 innings out of the pen.
  • Athletics C Stephen Vogt hit his first major league homer.

  • Mariners C Mike Zunino delivered the game-winning hit in the 10th.
  • Mariners RP Yoervis Medina picked up the win in relief after pitching a scoreless 10th inning.

  • Cubs C Dioner Navarro went 2-for-4 and hit his eighth homer.

  • Giants prospect RHP Kyle Crick allowed three hits and struck out eight batters over five scoreless innings for High-A San Jose.
  • Diamondbacks 2B Willie Bloomquist said Friday that his left hand felt much improved.
  • The MRI on Rockies OF Dexter Fowler's right wrist came back negative.
  • Nationals C Wilson Ramos (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with the Gulf Coast League Nationals.
  • Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki (rib) hopes to begin swinging a bat soon.

  • RP Ian Krol has tossed 9 2/3 scoreless innings while boasting a 12/1 K/BB ratio in nine appearances since being called up by the Nationals.
American League:
  • Mariners 2B Dustin Ackley will make his first major league start in center field Friday against the Cubs.
