BP Podcast

Episode 102: I Shouldn't Say Anything

by Kevin Goldstein

A goodbye and thanks to all of you, with special guests Steve Berthiaume of ESPN and one last visit from Not Jim Tracy. Thanks for listening everyone. We remain shocked and humbled by what this turned into. It was a great ride.

Note: We do alert you to the presence of the occasional adult language and subject matter. Don't say we didn't warn you.

102 episodes of #want. I'm going to miss having you guys in my ears.

Good luck in Houston, Kevin!

Thanks for the hours of entertainment, the show will be greatly missed.

We'll be rooting you and the Astros on, KG.

Thanks KG for the podcast. If you care to know what the podcast has meant to me...

I'm a 0.9er many times over; I listen to about two shows each day during the work week. Without the show I would have lost my mind probably a year ago at my monotonous job. Anyways, I was offered a promotion and start in about a month. As part of my new position I will not be able to listen to the show at the same frequency. So it's not exactly the end of the world for me.

Words can not express how happy I am for you and how thankful I am for all the hours of entertainment the show has provided.

The start of the music playing at the end of the podcast is unquestionably the most depressing moment in podcast history. I'm already a 0.9er, but I think I'm going to have to work on becoming a double 0.9er to get my fill. You guys are awesome.

I'm doing the double 0.9er thing now. Do it. It's fun to relive.

Thank you KG and Jason for helping to rekindle my love of baseball. I wish all the best to both of you.

Not going to lie. When KG referred to the Astros as "we" I definitely teared up a litttle.

A lovely farewell, that leaves only one question unanswered. So...who was Not Jim Tracy?

When will this be released in limited edition colored vinyl? 5 year anniversary? 10 year anniversary?

Steve's analogy of comparing #want to Batman was one of the funniest things I've heard in a while. Going to miss the podcast and those moments of having to cover my mouth in my office at work to keep from busting out laughing.

Nice work guys on all the podcasting.

Goodbye, Kevin. Goodbye, Jason (sort of). Goodbye, internet. The emotion is that of saying goodbye to a friend who is relocating across the ocean.

What are you drinking?

Thanks for this great podcast! Hours of entertainment.

Thanks for the great ride while learning what a .9er was and eventually becoming one Kevin! I should have made the 30 minute drive to Beloit to say thanks in person a couple weeks ago when you were there. Best of luck in Houston.

Congrats Kevin and Jason, on both of your new roles. The podcast and your writing (and tweets) has been a huge part of my baseball consumption in recent years. I look forward to more from Jason on BP, before he inevitably gets snatched up by a major league team.

I really enjoyed the interview a few episodes back with Jeff Luhnow, and one of the interesting points he made was how one of his strengths as an executive with the Cardinals was hiring talented people. Looks like he practices what he preaches.

And now Jason is gone too. This podcast is the metric by which all other baseball podcasts should be measured.
